Security forces of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), commonly known as Asayish, carried out a large-scale combing operation in the countryside of Deir Ezzor in the early hours of April 13.

“Our forces began a combing operation and a series of raids on terrorists’ hideouts … In the villages and towns of Deir Ezzor’s countryside,” an official statement by the Asayish reads.

In the course of the operation several suspects were arrested. Asayish units also seized several assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, improvised-explosive devices (IEDs) and satellite communication systems.

The SDF’s security forces said that the operation targeted terrorists responsible for attacking civilians and SDF members with IEDs and mines in an attempt to “destabilize security” in northeastern Syria.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), an airborne force of the US-led coalition supported the combing operation. The monitoring group said that during one of the raids, the force opened fire killing five suspects, three of whom were Iraqi citizens.

The combing operation in Deir Ezzor was the most recent in a series of similar operations by the SDF and its backers. The Kurdish-led group hopes that such operations could contain the remaining ISIS threat in northeastern Syria.

“The Kurdish-led group hopes that such operations could contain the growing threat of ISIS in northeastern Syria.”

Yeah, good luck with that, Kurds. You’re getting advice and assistance from the US military and intelligence agencies. The same ones with a history of EPIC failures in all their long-term counterinsurgency operations. Seems citizens in other countries subject to a US lapdog ‘government’ are unenthusiastic about eternally fighting US neocon defined imaginary ‘evil’, especially when a majority of the insurgency exists and is supported because they want to throw out the US occupiers and their cronies.

When US counterinsurgency efforts fell apart in South America in the 80’s and 90’s, we called in Israel for Plan B: Israeli-created and trained paramilitary death squads. We did that in Iraqi Kurdistan, and are doing it now with Israel in Syria under the cover of ‘Asayish security forces’. An occasional raid as reported above is used for propaganda purposes to legitimize Asayish. We don’t get to see the death squad hits.

Venezuelans might want to carefully consider Israel’s perpetual involvement in Colombia’s genocidal paramilitary death squads. That’s where they’re training the future Venezuelan death squads. I guess Israel’s SOUTHCOM in Miami isn’t up to the task. Or maybe they are?

These combing operations always seem to be a waste of time as Deash just keep attacking over and over again. I guess Deash fighters have the power to magically disappear and then reappear at will whenever and wherever they choose.
