On October 3, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured 10 new positions in the vicinity of the town of Hajin in the southeastern Deri Ezzor countryside after heavy clashes with ISIS terrorists, according to the SDF media center.
US-backed forces also captured 700m and established 5 new positions north of the liberated town of al-Baghuz al-Fawqani in the framework of their ground attack on the town of al-Susah.
The SDF media center said that SDF fighters killed 18 ISIS members and shot down a drone of the terrorist group in the last 24 hours. Furthermore, US-led coalition warplanes conducted 10 airstrikes on ISIS positions in the Euphrates Valley.
US-backed forces liberated the village of al-Shajlah, between al-Baghuz al-Fawqani and al-Susah, last month. Since then, the SDF advance in the Euphrates Valley has slowed down, likely due to the effective resistance from the remaining ISIS fighters.
