A convoy of eight trucks carrying men, women and children left the last pocket held by ISIS in the middle Euphrates River Valley on February 20, according to the Assassinated Press (AP).
Mustafa Bali, a spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told the AP’s team that the trucks were carrying civilians from the pocket. However, he didn’t clarify if any of the men who were aboard the convoy were fighters of the terrorist group.
Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed that dozens of trucks entered ISIS pocket in the Euphrates Valley. The UK-based monitoring group also confirmed that the US-led coalition and the terrorist group are still negotiating to finalize a secret evacuation agreement.
“Coalition warplanes flew in the region’s airspace and carried out several airstrikes …. These airstrikes may had been a cover to evacuate ISIS fighters in secret … Or it may had targeted the terrorists who are still refusing to leave and surrender under the secret agreement,” the SOHR’s report read.
Around 300 fighters and commanders of ISIS are still besieged in the Euphrates Valley. Syrian activists fear that the secret agreement between the US-led coalition and the terrorist group will allow them to escape.
Here we go again : The US Coalition, together with the Kurds are evacuating ISIS fighters together with their women & children. There are NO “Civilians” left in that area of the Euphrates Valley. This is the 300 that were “holding out” against attacks by US & Kurds ……. what is most important about that group of 300 is the number of US/UK/Israeli Military embedded with them.
I think you mean unconditional surrender. The remaining fighters just don’t want to be sent to Guantanamo like all the others. Although, I really wish they would not bother with the negotiations.
