The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed up by the US-led coalition, have launched another push to capture the village of Shafah in the Euphrates Valley from ISIS. According to reports, the SDF is currently in control of about a half of the village and clashes there are ongoing.
After the fall of Hajin, Safah remained the main ISIS strong point in the Euphrates Valley. Pro-SDF sources expect that if the group captures Safah, the entire ISIS-held pocket will fell soon.
