US-backed Forces Open Corridor For Civilians In Tabqa, Negotiate With ISIS To Allow Terrorists Withdraw

Support SouthFront

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) allegedly opened a security corridor in order to allow civilians to leave the ISIS-held town of Tabqa besieged by SDF fighters in the province of Raqqah.

Furthermore, the US-backed group reportedly launched negotiations with ISIS fighters in the area.

The same tactic was implemented by the SDF during the battle for Manbij when the SDF and the US Special Forces allowed about 500 vehicles with ISIS fighters and civilians to leave the town. A significant problem of this strategy is that the declaration of a formal control over the city does not lead to a military defeat of ISIS’ manpower.

Meanwhile, the Kurdish news agency ANHA relreased first photos and a video made inside the town of Tabqa:

So, even ISIS negotiates with terrorists.

PZIVJ1943

Maybe Daesh wants to relocate to Afganistan? Perhaps they are sick and tired of getting surrounded in Syria and Iraq all the time. Will the coalition give them a plane ride? The airport is within walking distance! They can hide out in the now vacant tunnel system when they get to their new home !! :D

Bill Wilson

Maybe the experienced Daesh fighters inside Tabqa wouldn’t mind getting rid of the rookies that were sent in from the nearby training camps because those tend to major liabilities during fighting? There should be displaced ISIS supporters and their families in Tabqa. Quite a few of them came from around the World not to fight but to live in their glorious caliphate which has turned to pig shit. They may wanting to negotiate safe passage out of Syria to return home.

PZIVJ1943

Daesh is surrounded in Tabqa, where is the safe passage for them ?

Dustil schmit

SAA/rebels didn’t handle the exchange well like 4 days ago?

Solomon Krupacek

you ar the only truth-lover

Bill Wilson

I doubt if the SDF will allow Daesh fighters to leave. Maybe some knucklehead foreign civilian supporters who are eager to leave and child soldiers that are freaking out.

dutchnational

Manbij was surrounded too.

It seems that IS does not want to fight to the end when there is a chance for flight.

SDF let them go as they did not want to get completely destroyed cities and a lot of civilial casualties.

I can imagine them taking the escape corridors.

The drawback is of course they have to fight them again elsewhere.

FlorianGeyer

Is the US planning to divert ISIS to Deir Ezzor I wonder? The US covets that town and politically a US assault on the SAA there would be met by ferocious Russian resistance.

The US would be happy to see ISIS in control first.

CyricRenner

Possible. Russia can play this game too. The Taliban in Afghanistan might get some mich needed military help in their battle against “ISIS”.

Ivanus59

Also arm the Houthies, Venezuela, give North Korea weapons, AAs…. There are so many places around the world where USA is conducting aggression that they have a large choice of who to support against USA. :P

Bill Wilson

Venezuela needs toilet paper.

Jonathan Cohen

North Korea could use some modern nukes about now. but they are the only group on your list with abortion rights.

Solomon Krupacek

why russia? SAA also allows remove of isis members. see east aleppo

Bill Wilson

Nah. I suspect that the seasoned ISIS fighters inside Tabqa want to get rid of the unreliable trainees that were sent in for their safety from the nearby training camps. Once those fools are gone then the rest will fight to the end.

abuqahwa

Exactly. Never forget that the ultimate aim of US/GB/FR/BE/TU and their evil partners of Qatar/Saudi/Israel is, AND REMAINS, the destruction and break-up (cantonization) of Syria as a unitary nation-state. This explains their continuing active support for various Islamic terror gangs, including ISIS, such as the sustained air attack on SAA defenses at Deir-ez-Zour in support of a co-ordinated ISIS assault in September 2016. Up to 100 SAA soldiers were killed in that airstrike, certainly a deliberate act of war and more significant and damaging than the Trumpet CM strikes on the ash-Shayrat AB.

Solomon Krupacek

the SAA follows the same tactics. allow remove. according you and your friends this is goog war strategy, a´la Sun-tse

FlorianGeyer

Sun Tzu :)

Easier to blow these head choppers up in they are out in the open.

Real Anti-Racist Action

The Zionist would never do anything to defeat their army of Sunni/Zio’s. The whole idea is to portray to the world a faults image of “liberating cities” and achieving “hero” status, while not killing to many ISIS or their Mossad commanders. Mean while Christians and Alawites and honest-Sunni and Shia all suffer together equally. This is a global war of Monotheist vs the dominant majority Atheist. http://presstv.com/

dutchnational

A secret : jews and sunni are monotheist too. In fact, jewry is the oldest existing monotheist religion.

Please, do not tell anybody.

Aleks Black

last time a group of isis retreated, the man were each forced to cut of an ear. I dont see it as an appealing option.

Ronald

Death is less appealing .

Aleks Black

You make a good point. You are dealing with fanatics, and people who will kill them if they try to be less than fanatics. Besides, the more SDF gets now, the less will be around to defend raqqa.

abuqahwa

This is similar to what happened in Aleppo city east – foreign fighters and advisers given ratlines to escape. There are hundreds of western terrorists mainly British, French and Belgian now trapped in Raqqa and desparate to escape their fate. Why the hell should these jihadis get guaranteed free passage out along with their Qatari and Saudi paymasters , just to save the evil FR/GB/BE cabal some embarassment ?? As for the ISIS child trainees they are not a liability but an asset as cannon-fodder and suicide bombers so it makes sense to keep them fighting and dying as long as possible, just like the Hitler Jugend in 1944-45. The SDF has become 100 % dependant on US (wpns, training, logistics, close air and arty support AND operational planning) plus their guaranteed Kurdish protectorate in NE Syria so they are in no rush to die for Raqqa.

PZIVJ1943

Good to see some civ’s making it out of Al Tabqa. If the Deash fighters wish to flee to Raqqa and give up the dam, this is good. Although they are surrounded and no river bridges are intact. Looks like the ISUS force will be totally destroyed this time (unlike Manbij). :)

dutchnational

You are saying they are just like the SAA?

Bill Wilson

I just did some checking and the “alledged” corridor was created today when the SDF cut the city in two. At 00:00 hour the SDF entered Tabqa from the east and west to eventually meet up at the city’s center. ISIS suffered heavy losses while the SDF had two injured. There was no mention of negotiations with ISIS for withdrawing their fighters.

PZIVJ1943

This would be great, but it sounds like YPG propaganda report.

Bill Wilson

Then I guess SF reporting successes by the SAA is just propaganda since little of it gets out onto the MSM.

dutchnational

Southfront is reporting successes in DeZ for half a year while the line of combat hardly changes and the population is starving.

Maybe they have a different opinion about success.

mark123456

why would you let them out? To lose more lives when taking raqqa? STUPID

Dustil schmit

The dam for one.

mark123456

what about it?

TS

The Big Question is, will this lead to proper negotiations or further conflict down the line?
