On February 10, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a new attack on ISIS positions around and inside the village of al-Bahrah in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside. Kurdish sources claimed that the US-backed forces had captured several positions inside the village. However, the SDF has not confirmed these claims so far.
Units of the SDF’s Deir Ezzor Military Council (DMC) also clashed with ISIS around the town of Hajin, according to Syrian opposition sources.
From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq reported that ISIS snipers had killed two fighters of the SDF around the village of al-Bahrah. Moreover, six other fighters of the SDF were killed when ISIS targeted them with several IEDs around the village.
ISIS fighters also shelled the position of the US-backed forces around al-Bahrah with dozens of mortar rounds, according to Amaq.

The attack against ISIS in al-Bahrah was the first anti-ISIS operation by the US-backed forces since the beginning of the Turkish attack on the Afrin area in northern Syria on January 20. Experts believe that Afrin is currently the main priority of the Kurdish-dominated SDF.

There are no Kurds or SDF in Deir EzZor, and they didn’t launch ANY attack. The 100% Arab tribal militia (and mostly ex-FSA/Nusra/ISIS) Deir EzZor Military Council (DEMC) is who launched the attack.
The DEMC are allied with, but are not and have never been part of the SDF. They hate Kurds. They’re paid by and fight under the direction of CENTCOM. DEMC is not SDF and would never agree to be ordered around by the Kurds. The DEMC tolerates CENTCOM for the free weapons and trucks. The ‘they’re part of SDF’ is just the cover story for us dumb Americans. They’re useless thugs, just like the New Syrian Army in at Tanf.

Partly correct imo. DEMC is indeed overwhelmingly arab. Parts of them stem from former FSA units that either a long time ago, or recently (elite forces) went over to SDF. Many are recruited from the DEZ refugees and some stem from tribes. Some “clean” ex IS and Al Nusra are there too.
They have been retrained but likely still lack some fighting capabilities.
They are part of SDF though. SDF needs to clear the valley to prevent counterattacks and infiltration and to be able to resettle refugees.
It takes time as SDF forces are also being deployed towards the north west and north and they must be building rapid response forces/reserves against SAA incursions.
The DMC is old ISIS tribesmen from the Shahadadi region and trained by the US and controlled by them , so no refugees as they wouldn’t join these ISIS scum.
Even the Kurds YPG and SDF Arabs say there are no SDF forces in the region ,keep cheer leading for CENTCOM I see. There is no ongoing resettlement of refugees as this is just a lie but the opposite an ethnic cleansing in the region.
Don’t bother trying assume SDF are in the region as they are in full denial and say that US backed DMC is there on their own. You make yourself look bad being a CENTCOM liar.

That was a long R and R,where were they for the last couple of months besides attacking the SAA?The isis in eastern syria must be bored stiff,with no fighting against the SDF puppets.
The DEMC spends all its time avoiding any fights with ISIS – some of them might get hurt. That’s why they’ve made almost no progress against ISIS on the east side of the Euphrates. The DEMC mostly spend their time drinking tea, looking for loot or creating profitable extortion rackets. Occasionally, CENTCOM levels a few villages and forces them to film themselves walking around after ‘defeating’ ISIS there.
A lot of the Arab tribal fighters in the DEMC are ‘retrained’ ex-ISIS from Raqqa or the SDF death camps – they have no animosity towards their ISIS brothers. Of course they have to pretend to be ISIS-haters (just like NSyA in at Tanf) to their dim-witted American handlers so they keep getting more trucks, arms and paychecks, but it’s just an act. The DEMC only attacks hostile (to them) ISIS, not otherwise-friendly anti-SAA ISIS. DEMC quite knowingly and willingly let ‘friendly’ ISIS move in and out of their territory. The DEMC doesn’t even bother friendly ISIS holed up in their territory if they don’t cause the DEMC any trouble.
That’s exactly what prompted the pro-gov tribal militias and SAA ISIS Killers to head out to the old al Isba refinery. ISIS was using it to stage attacks on them in Kasham and al Tabiya. The DEMC probably had some kind of stolen oil sale operation going there, too. The DEMC didn’t like this ‘intrusion’ by the SAA and started firing on them. Eventually, they had their US handlers call in ‘defensive’ airstrikes ‘because the SAA was attacking them’.
Of course CENTCOM is going to deny any knowledge of an ISIS presence in SDF/DEMC territory. Gosh, they’re trying to kill ISIS – with their worthless proxy of ex-ISIS tribal thugs. They even have YouTube videos showing the victorious ‘SDF’ (DEMC degenerates) liberating villages like al-Bahrah and Hajin (but they leave out the looting part). What CENTCOM doesn’t say is that they’ve been leveling these tiny villages with airstrikes and artillery for the last week. Everyone there is dead – ISIS and civilians. There was nobody left for DEMC to fight when they got there.
