On December 22, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that its fighters repelled an attack by ISIS on their positions in the village of al-Jurdi Sharqi on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in southeastern Deir Ezzor. SDF fighters killed 21 fighters of ISIS and destroyed an armed vehicle while repelling the attack, according to the SDF.
From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq announced that ISIS fighters attacked several positions of the SDF around the village of Abu Hamam 5km south of al-Jurdi. ISIS fighters also shelled the SDF positions with mortars during the attack, according to Amaq.

The SDF revealed on December 21 that 10 Tunisian, and Iraqi fighters of ISIS surrendered themselves and their families to the SDF near the al-Tanak oil field in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

The SDF didn’t capture any strategic position from ISIS in the last few weeks. Due to this fact, many Syrian pro-government activists believe that the SDF is now working to “absorb” the remaining fighters near the Syrian-Iraqi border, instead of eliminating them.
The Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria warned on December 16, that the US-led coalition is using a refugee camp in al-Hasakah governorate as a base for training former members of ISIS, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and other radical groups.
Sounds fake. Fighters surrendering to US-backed forces tend to legitimize Deir Ezzor as a US protectorate. These ISIS fighters, originally armed by US or its allies (Saudis), now will fight on US side against Assad. US needs to go. Bad time to lose Russian backup.

Notice that SDF “fights” ISIS just when SAA will gain territory against ISIS. Otherwise, they don’t fight.
The governate in which is located the refugee camp that the US is slyly using to train terrorists is often misspelled as Haskah. It is actually Khaseq خاسق. This kind of mistake is common due to the transliteration system from Arabic to English. I noticed this first in an RT article. Apparently the Russians are using this misspelling as well.

ISIS never attack them. Just notice that SDF “attacks” ISIS just when SAA is about to get territory. They didn’t attack ISIS for 6 months or 1 tear in their “raqqah offensive”. When SAA started their DZ campaign, SDF started to fight ISIS.
It’s all staged. ISIS and SDF are working together.
SF has some internally conflicting reports on SDF. Having reported several wins by SDF the last two weeks, they now report that SDF did not capture any “strategic” positions the last few weeks.
It is either one or the other, not both. That is unless you define any position taken as not strategic and any position not taken as “strategic”, which is a bit weird imo.
Whatever, it is fully clear SDF is steadily advancing towards the border in the Euphrates Valley. Unlike Assad held territory, much effort is invested in restarting Raqqah, DeZ cs. where SF proudly reports 1500 civillians returning into SAA held DeZ, Anha reports over 15.000 families. alltogether between 60 and 100k civillians, returning to Raqqah city and 4000 pupils in restarted schools and some 6 schools in Raqqah about to be reopened with electricity again becoming available.
Damascus was not destroyed because in Assad hand. Raqqah has been completly destroyed by USA and their proxies (ISIS and SDF).
USA, ISIS and SDF has killed so many people in Syria. They can’t be part of Syria because they are the ennemies of the syrian people.
You also need to include the oil field areas that where taken…pretty much anything that’s not Kurdish population majority should be given back
I’m sure the Syrian government will eventually get those oil fields back once ISIS has been completely eliminated that region. Those fields are mature and require expensive EOR techniques to extract their low grade sour crude which was exported to Western European refineries before the fighting started and won’t buy it today due to sanctions against Assad’s government. Those fields’ infrastructure will need rebuilding to get back into production which isn’t going to happen for quite some time since there’s no market for it. Before the fighting started, 25% of Syria’s natural gas production was injected into those heavy crude fields to stimulate production with the rest used for electrical generation. Syria does have light sweet crude fields in the NE corner with a pipeline that brought it down to the refineries in the west and to the coast for export. Those fields were small to begin with and should be petering out by now.

I’m not sure why it’s always mentioned “US backed SDF” instead of ISIS backed SDF..! The US are not there in Syria for the freedom of the country..! The US itself are ISIS..! It should be stated as.. The US funded ISIS also known as SDF.. bla.. bla..!
