On October 25, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that their fighters repelled a new ISIS attack on their positions north of the town of al-Baghuz al-Fawqani in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
“The terrorist organization launched an attack on our fighters’ positions in the late evening hours. Violent clashes broke out, in which our fighters targeted seven terrorist positions. The clashes continued until noon today, and our fighters managed to repel the attack,” the SDF media center said in its daily press release.
SDF fighters killed 37 terrorists during the last 24 hours, according to the SDF media center. Most of the terrorists were killed during the failed attack north of al-Baghuz, while the rest of them were killed during clashes around the town of Hajin.
US-led coalition warplanes carried out 14 airstrikes on areas held by ISIS in the Euphrates Valley in order to support the SDF operation there. The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq reported that one of the airstrikes destroyed a mosque in the village of al-Bubdran killing 7 civilians and injuring many others.
The SDF stormed the town of al-Susah two days ago in order to secure it. However, it appears that US-backed forces halted their advance inside the town because of the strong ISIS resistance.
Good news, more ISIS dead. Still what is taking so long. Even Russia and Iran have been fighting a spec of ISIS within driving distance of Damascus for what seems to be a year. How many thousands have been lost in that battle? Appear to be fighting with Syria’s F Troop, time to bring in the ATeam and finish them off then move on the ISIS base just south of the Euphrates
always according to the americans do you believe them that they killing their mercenaries?
terrorists killing scores of terrorists.
something does not add up.
Everything about these ISIS battles does not add up. Where does the water, food and money come from? They should be surrounded but somehow leave the battlefield and rematerialize in another country.
