The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued operations north of Raqqa city after capturing the 17th Division base.

It began to storm the silos area north of the city. The silos area is one of the most important ISIS defense sites in Raqqa. ISIS had used it as a tank workshop.

Meanwhile, SDF troops entered the Roman Quarter area in the western part of Raqqa city and managed to kill 21 ISIS militants during its advance.

On the other side, ISIS militants targeted a gathering of SDF fighters in Khatouniya village west of Raqqa city with an ATGM.

Moreover, ISIS claimed that it killed 15 SDF fighters and two US soldiers in Al-Mashlab district east of Raqqa city during the clashes yesterday. However, these claims are believed to be false.

Yesterday US-led coalition warplanes carried out 27 air strikes on ISIS positions inside Raqqa city, and the Marines artillery continued shelling in the city with phosphorus shells.

The ISIS-linked News Agency Amaaq published a new video of the US bombing on Raqqa city with white phosphorus.

According to reports, the yesterday US strikes killed 21 civilians and injured 19 others. According to local sources, ISIS organization has sent 300 experienced fighters from the so-called “Jaish al-A’israh” to reinforce its forces in Raqqa city.

The yesterday videos from Raqqa showed the Pandur AGMS with SDF. It is not known whether these vehicles were handed over to the SDF or that they belong to US-led coalition special forces, which are believed to take a direct role in the operation.

This is way too easy…

Red flag on this whole thing…

You may be right. I expected the SDF advance to stall in the eastern Al Mashalab urban area. But the maps say otherwise !

Alex Black

They made a deal with ISIS. You are going to see attacks on Palmyrra, the Khanaser highway and Deir Ezzor by ISIS reinforcements that will mysteriously reappear from the desert. Its not a mystery. Why do you think the SDF cant stop praising the Saudis.

PZIVJ

SDF did leave the back door open for escape. But one does not just abandon a major supply hub and good defensive terrain like Raqqa. Daesh dirt bags may be standing on their last leg. They have no major supply hubs in the desert (only along the river). GOOD NEWS ! :)

While I think shenanigans are possible, even likely, I would observe that the PMUs overran half of Mosul in about a week, and yet its taken them 7 months and counting with the rest. It was a cakewalk until they got embroiled in the “real” defence in the densely urban areas.

The SDF are just now reaching urban Raqqah proper, so I guess we will find out soon enough what kind of defence ISIS are going to put up.

Less than a hundred Daesh killed out of a city of a population of over 200,000? How does one hold a city captive with less than 10,000 captors? Appears this is a made for cake walk and the Daesh has been rerouted by their handlers to Deir Ezzor viva free passage. This must not stand by either Syria nor Iraq whose direction they are coming.

We may see the PMU sweeping down from Baiji West & South converging on Deir Ezzor using N7 South and N4 West to join up and create a cauldron to Al Qa’im pushing West forcing US/FSA/Daesh back into Jordan. Of course this would create another problem for Jordan’s participation so we may see the US write off/annihilate it’s proxies before they can enter Jordan. Not sure how the US can continue this Zionist agenda as Trump has oops! the base in Qatar………

“US-BACKED FORCES STORMING NORTHERN PART OF RAQQA CITY”…TRANSLATION…UNITED STATES INTERNATIONAL MERCENARY TERRORISTS (SDF) invading Syria, under the PROTECTION of US special forces with the US bombing of Raqqa city with white phosphorus storming Raqqa City.

I have yet to see any actual fighting in Raqqah. WP shells, people riding in cars, walking through deserted areas (apparently not even worried about booby-traps), watching something that could be “fortifications” or defensive sites, people on walkie-talkies. BUT, where is the war? What I am seeing is a handover! PS. I don’t believe figures that are given out as proof. They are unsubstantiated claims. And the supposed ATGM photos above – could be an empty building; the shadowy shapes could even be civilians, or they could be something but not people at all. Please, this is ridiculous!
