Carrier strike group (CSG) is an operational formation of the United States Navy. It is centered on an aircraft carrier and a carrier air wing (CVW) of 65 to 70 aircrafts. It’s composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of at least two destroyers and/or frigates. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Carrier strike groups comprise a principal element of U.S. power projection over the world’s oceans.

Somebody has has been aware that since February 2018 no CSG has shown up in the strait of Hormuz?

Before that date it was a fixed location for a CSG over the last years.

And all that amidst increasing war-redderick against Iran ?

I do not check often this section of sf, but quite a strange behavior of th strike groups?

To your point, if a military limited confrontation against Iran would be implemented, is it realy reasonable to have a carrier strike group in range of the iranian missiles?

I do also not think that the US will attack Iran, would be stupid and not Trumps way of acting, but never know, tensions are high.
