Carrier strike group (CSG) is an operational formation of the United States Navy. It is centered on an aircraft carrier and a carrier air wing (CVW) of 65 to 70 aircrafts. It’s composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of at least two destroyers and/or frigates. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Carrier strike groups comprise a principal element of U.S. power projection over the world’s oceans.

That’s just George W Bush cruising around the Indian ocean. No worry for Iran, Trump is just making noise. But if there were two along with Marine anphib. force and much more 82nd and 101st air mobile in the area, then you can start to be a bit concerned.

Prinz Mohammed Bin Salman was a little bit to happy after his Trump visit yesterday – my money is on Iran – that’s where it might start first – well I hope, I am wrong and that it doesn’t start anywhere…
It would be nice to see two more deployed in the pacific. One more in the Sea of Japan, and one in the Philippines, near Taiwan. This is not for combat operations, but as a foundation/fall back position in negotiations with China to depose the Kim regime.
Also there should be two deployed in the Eastern Med. One to shadow the Kuznetsov, and one to check the Turkeys to ensure the Black Sea remains open to the oceans.
