According to spokesman for the US Department of State, John Kirby, the US is not going to fight against the Al-Nusra Front in Syria, and only the the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group is the aim of the US-led coalition there.
The Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (previously known as the Al-Nusra Front) terrorist group is not the main aim of the US-led coalition in Syria, spokesman for the US Department of State, John Kirby, said.
According to Kirby, the US-led coalition fights only against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in Syria. The IS is the main aim of the US and its allies.
During a briefing, journalists asked Kirby if the US and the coalition, led by the country, are fighting against the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham. Kirby answered that the Al-Nusra is not the main aim of the US. However, at the same time, he admitted that Washington has made a number of actions against this group.
“We know the Al-Nusra. We have taken action against them,” Kirby said.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, said that armed opposition groups are in a ‘mutually beneficial symbiosis’ with terrorists in eastern Aleppo, so the ‘moderate’ opposition is not going to be separated from terrorists.
He added that there are a variety of estimates of the number of armed opposition groups and terrorists in the east of Aleppo. According to Churkin, the number of terrorists is at least ten times smaller than the number of opposition fighters, but the latter are not going to fight against them. The Russian Permanent Representative explained that a ‘mutually beneficial symbiosis’ has already been established between terrorists and members of the opposition, and it is simply not profitable for opposition units to fight against terrorists of the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham.
According to UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, currently, there are less than 900 terrorists of the Al-Nusra in Aleppo.
The Russian Permanent Representative to the UN also noted that the US promised to separate terrorists and the ‘moderate’ opposition, but has not yet fulfilled its promise.
“In this regard, we even have a thought that someone deliberately wants to keep the Al-Nusra as the most combat-capable unit during the armed fight against the Syrian government,” Churkin said.
More perfidious noise from Washington.
Obviously the US main aim is Assad, infrastructure and civilians. US won’t go after its’ own employees, terrorists.
Q – What are we going to do against AlNusra? A – Al Qaeda affiliate? Nothing. Why should we care… Q – 9/11? A – Ummmmm
in the end, the forces who are more honest will prevail. The hysteria the zio-driven media are spreading over the western world is a clear sign of they having been caught red-handed, in the process of stealing, robbing and destroying the work of the just. I may be optimist, but It’s not entirely impossible that the whole middle-east situation will make many people (at least those who have not been terrorized into brainwashing) start asking questions about how these “democracies” defend the ideals they state to have adopted.
I agree. Senior Kirby is very annoying. He communicates to the world as if we are devoid of any intellectual capacity. I thought AQ was the main objective of the War on Terror. I guess the war is over now.
These same people shed crocodile tears for the 3000 caualties of 9/11. Traitors, on the payroll of the american people.
