US Claims Its Diplomats Will Return To "Free and Democratic" Venezuela Only

On March 14th, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that all of the remaining US diplomats in Venezuela left the country “for the time being.”

He also announced that the US diplomatic staff “look forward to returning to a free & democratic Venezuela.”

The US-Proclaimed President Juan Guaido continues to have the complete US support. US diplomats will simply support the opposition outside Venezuela’s borders.

“US diplomats will now continue that mission from other locations where they will continue to help manage the flow of humanitarian assistance to the Venezuelan people and support the democratic actors bravely resisting tyranny,” Pompeo said.

This is a follow-up on his announcement on March 11th that US diplomatic presence had become a “constraint” on US policy in Venezuela.

Furthermore, in a video Pompeo said that the US was prepared to provide the humanitarian assistance that they need.

US Senator Marco Rubio who appears to have taken one of the leading positions on conduct regarding Venezuela also tweeted that the next time the US flag flies it will be in a “free and democratic Venezuela.”

Rubio also shared reports of alleged pro-Maduro government “colectivos” assaulting a group of people at a hospital to prevent them from reaching the UN Human Rights Commission.

He also alleged that this reliance on “Armed colectivos” expresses Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s distrust in his military and his concerns regarding their “loyalty or capacity.”

Surprisingly, US National Security Adviser John Bolton has not repeated Pompeo and Rubio’s ominous warnings. He earlier warned that if anything were to happen to Guaido or any member of the National Assembly, the Venezuelan military would be held responsible by the US.

The promises of democracy and freedom returning to Venezuela, and US diplomats potentially may be a potential promise for a swift intervention.

On March 14th, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza gave an address during a UN convention on narcotics in Vienna. In a sign of protest against the “illegitimate” Maduro government, US officials, along with officials from several Latin American countries, Canada, and a few European nations, including France stormed out of the commission.

“The members of the Venezuela delegation here today represent the illegitimate government of Nicolas Maduro, and thus cannot be considered as speaking on behalf of the Venezuelan people,” a US Mission to International Organizations spokesman declared after storming out.

In his speech, Arreaza called for a multilateral approach to fighting the drug war. He declared the US “unilateral economic steps” have led to a depletion of Venezuela’s national coffers and deprived it of resources it could use to fight drugs.

“Today the multilateral model is under threat and the situation of Venezuela is an example of this…The government of the US has threatened our people with a military aggression, with a use of force violating the UN charter,” Arreaza said.

Also in Vienna, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s support of the Maduro government.

Inside Venezuela, the US-Proclaimed President Guaido continues with urging people to protest, with the most recent one to happen on March 16th.

“We also call all Venezuelans in the world to express themselves this Saturday #16Mar in more than 200 cities we will raise our voice to request that the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela be stopped. #16MUnidosYMovilizados”

It does appear as if Guaido’s opposition is losing steam and it may actually require a more active approach on the part of the US, which the promises of “freedom and democracy,” following the withdrawal of all diplomatic staff, may be an indication of.

so the american diplomats have been finally kicked out. Lets see if americans go in with guns blazing it be very interesting to watch them have their ass handed to them.

Quite a serious situation. Reminds me of Lybia but then this is happening right in the neighborhood. usa might just get burnt if they don’t behave.

Joe

Venezuela is safe…. She has the support of two super powers .. Russia and China. Libya had none . Saddam Hussein had none . Both same fate.

Look at Syria, supported by a supwe power and winning.

Joe

The Americans are alone so there will not be Rambos firing mahine guns..

No country want to fight a war over lies

Promitheas Apollonious

well history prove you wrong in what you saying.

Dušan Mirić

Rambo is the man of honor. He Will not fight for the wrong thing

RusskiiTroll54

Free and Democratic huh? More likely Free of oil and gold reserves!

John Whitehot

and free of any independence from zionist cabals.

verner

hang on maduro – if you’re lucky there won’t be any meddling diplomats at all from moronistan (aka usa) and if you’re doubly lucky, maybe fatso is hanged from a lamppost up side down like mussolini, by say the american veterans being tired of the bs crap emanating from state department and the white house and wars to the detriment of the taxpayers and the future of generations to come.¨¨

all it will take is one humongous veterans demonstration of say 1 to 2 míllion battle trained vets in washington dc to fix for good the criminal and corrupt cabal being steered by aipac and adelson und zu weiter.

Boris Kazlov

This will never happen, cannot trust people or vets, only a divine intervention or a war can stop this sheize.

I have given this a lot of thought, and the only way I can come up with stopping the American Empire, and not kill a billion people, is to destroy the US dollar. Without money for bombs and troops the US is no longer a threat. American power comes from the dollar, gold is kryptonite to the dollar, if enough people bought gold the dollar and the war machine would collapse. That would be good for the whole world, including the American people.

verner

yeah, attempts here and there to stop the free and unhibited printing of money has occured. lastly in switzerland where they, in a referendum, wanted to prohibit the swiss national bank printing money – and failed, naturally. but there are misgivings about the unlimited access to money, particularly if you consider the massive debt-situation and the mountain of debt that is now hanging over every friggin citizen in the world so once the next ,apocalyptic’ financial meltdown rears its ugly head, it will b the time to finish off fiat money, once and for all.

just think about it – austerity for the debt laden people and quantitative easing for the percenter. fair – no way.

Sinbad2

Well we the people can simply shun their paper IOU’s and save gold and silver. Here in Australia they dumped low value copper coins, because the copper was worth more than the face value of the coin. The western world has been devaluing its currencies for decades, but they hide it from most.

Sinbad2

“the american veterans being tired of the bs” You know I’m old enough to remember Vietnam vets saying exactly the same thing. But 60 years later they are still chugging on the bong muttering about doing something. To be fair, so am I.

Joe

Full of bull talks

Sinbad2

All Venezuela had to do is withdraw services, you know the maids cooks, little boys for the diplomats.

ColinNZ

Ha ha ha … that’s because only a US puppet regime will ever let empire vassals back in. Priceless.

Tommy Jensen

We Americans turn our back to dictatorship countries, but we are always with the working people. The working populations are not guilty in anything, their governments are. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8828110c8a4e8853b8bb9680ae3387b13ff584b0a13a7112deee84b6d748ad48.jpg

Jim Bim

What Pompus is saying…… we come back when Venezuela is broken and ready again to be a US vassal state that serves US corporate interest.

Sinbad2

A bit like Macarthur saying he would return, as he ran for his life, leaving his troops to die.

Dušan Mirić

Далеко вам лепа кућа!

John Whitehot

the venezuelans must be crying bitter tears.

at least now, if they catch unauthorized yanks doing regime changing tricks they can put them to the wall without incurring in the “diplomatic passport” impasses.
