US Drone Strike Kills Key Taliban Commander In Afghanistan - Reports

On Sunday, Afghan officials from Jabal Saraj district announced that a key commander of the Taliban was killed in a US unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) strike in Ezat Khil area of Jabal Saraj district.

The airstrike was conducted as a part of an attack of the Afghan Army backed by US-led coalition warplanes in Ezat Khil area, according to the officials.

“Troops came from Kabul and they launched a military operation in Ezat Khil and the foreign troops also provided support from the air in which Mullah Agha Gul, a Taliban commander and one of his fighters, were killed,” Masoum Farzayee police chief of Jabal Saraj said.

However, Mohammad Asim Asim, the governor of Jabal Saraj district denied that the Taliban commander was killed by the US-led coalition airstrike. Asim claimed that the current operation in the Ezat Khil area is carried out by Afghan Ground Forces. According to him two fighters of the Taliban been killed so far.

Meanwhile, the Afghan Police announced that one of its checkpoints in Arghandab district was attacked by Taliban fighters. According to Afghan Police, 5 policemen were killed and 2 others were injured in the attack.

The Taliabn is now conducting rapid “Hit and Run” attacks against the Afghan Police and Army. This tactic reveals that the Taliban is not in rush to make any major gains in Afghanistan, for now.

Taliban is like that cockroach that just wont die and go away.

Shahna

Sound just like the Americans. Except the Taliban don’t go to America to drop bombs on American civilians.

Graeme Rymill

That is true only if you conveniently forget that the Taliban sheltered Bin Laden for years. Oh, sorry… I forgot that you think 9/11 was a scam….

Barba_Papa

Didn’t he hide in Pakistan? And it wasn’t like the US government wasn’t in much of a hurry to catch him after 9/11, as they let Al Qaida and its boss get away, being more interested with invading Iraq instead.

And for the record, I do not think 9/11 was a scam. More like the perfect shitstorm of American security service incompetence, together with sheer luck on the part of the hijackers. No wonder it spawned a whole new level of conspiracy thinking. How often does such a think happen?

Graeme Rymill

when Bin Laden was expelled from Sudan in 1996 he relocated to Afghanistan. The Taliban at that time were the Afghanistan Government. Mullah Omar refused repeated requests from Preseident Clinton to expell Bin Laden. He wasn’t hiding in isolation like he later did in Pakistan. He and a large group of Arabs etc. openly operated terrorist training camps and conducted terrorist operations. For example the 1998 Nairobi Embassy bombing which killed 12 Americans and over 200 Kenyans. Most of the Kenyans were just people in the vicinity such as staff and students of a secretarial college next door.

Red Tick Alert

In the Capital city no less….. mmm I wonder.

Vidura

No they just execute police men, assassinate leaders, throw acid on girls, enforce sharia.

Shahna

As opposed to shoot black people in the back, bomb leaders in other countries, drop depleted uranium and white phosphorous on girls and enforce US domination interests?

Bite me.

Vidura

Black people that cause most crime in the US ? We could have bombed gaddafi using our new nighthawks back in the 80s and ended the trouble. And no we don’t go wasting resources to go find little girls to drop ordanance on them that would be the Taliban.

Shahna

Yes you do.

Vidura

No we don’t.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Sound like the CIA they do all the things you have just said and then some.

Vidura

CIA doesn’t do that Taliban does.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Why do you insist on projecting known CIA drug operations on the Taliban which had almost eradicated it under their watch down to 15 tons a year. What has it been like since the US invasion thousands of tons and they use Air America to fly it , no stranger there they did it in Vietnam.

Vidura

Taliban eradicated any form of democratic freedoms people of Afghanistan had. The CIA doesn’t need to invade a whole country to cultivate drugs ?

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Taliban never eradicated any democratic freedoms of the people there since that is owned by the US in backing Al Qaeda against the Democratically elected Govt in the 80’s. The US has exports at 6000 tons and yes it does need the country cultivating drugs, the country is being run by drug lords.

This is so funny about you is that you believe your own countries bull shit as a truth , you make me laugh you are so easily lead , go BAA! BAA!

Vidura

Yes they did. The Taliban enforced strict sharia took away women’s right forced them all to wear burkas they blew up the huge Buddha statues etc. No one wants to go back to that.

Iam guessing you must have got those figures from a very deep research into reliable sources lol!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Al Qaeda and Dotsam Rashid brought in strict Sharia laws and this was under the US , when the Taliban was in power they had female doctors and those female politicians were same ones under the Taliban. They couldn’t even get funding for schools as they were a poor nation but they had girls going to school , but for a nation with a high illiteracy rate , which you wouldn’t know about. They even had these things before in the 80’s but school was for those who could afford it as the government couldn’t.

The ones blowing up the Buddha statues were from Dotsam Rashid and his fighters they are Tajiks not Afghani nd are not Taliban but drug dealers now a US ally.Seems like you rely on the CNN history pages again , go find out and do some research.

Vidura

Lol now you are just trying to find excuses to find your way back to blaming the US – “The Taliban have been condemned internationally for the harsh enforcement of their interpretation of Islamic Sharia law, which has resulted in the brutal treatment of many Afghans, especially women.[38][39] During their rule from 1996 to 2001, the Taliban and their allies committed massacres against Afghan civilians, denied UN food supplies to 160,000 starving civilians and conducted a policy of scorched earth, burning vast areas of fertile land and destroying tens of thousands of homes.[40][41][42][43][44][45] According to the United Nations, the Taliban and their allies were responsible for 76% of Afghan civilian casualties in 2010, 80% in 2011, and 80% in 2012.[46][47][48][49][50][51]” – straight out of Wikipedia not CNN.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Sounds like the US is the typical drug dealing cockroach who has infested Afghanistan , with 25,197 Mercenaries there along with the US military protecting their heroin and opium supply. The CIA and Air America flying and supplying their dope world wide so they can fund their wars. Seems like they should be the ones that should scurry away when the light is shone on them.

Vidura

Lol we don’t need some dope to fund our operations. And no it’s not us troops that run like cockroaches the moment they hear a warthog !

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

What do think they do there and and dope has funded CIA operations going back to the cocaine and heroin trade in the 1920’s , they have been in the drug business that long.

Vidura

CIA – Central Intelligence Agency, they are one of the best funded organisations in the US they don’t need some dope to fund their operations ? Unless their operations involve drugs.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They never get enough money to fund their wars and commit domestic terrorism , they always have been running drugs, the US and the British in the 1800’s flooded china with bad low grade and addictive opium , there was a chemical additive that made it highly addictive and a short high. Their operations are grossly inadequately funded for what they do, most of their bloated bureaucracy and administration eats up a large chunk, Just ask Robert Mueller when he was the man in charge.

The CIA dependency on drugs funding it’s operations well known and even legendary within the intel community.

Vidura

Whatever they are doing right now they seem to have learnt their lessons about forced regime change but any nation with the assets we have would do everything in their power to ensure supplies of oil are maintained and enemies taken down.

hhabana

They will not go away with the social model they accept to live in. The young people will have to fight for their change. USA out and absolutely no immigrants from Afghanistan.

Lumen

Congratulations to the afghan Army.

Red Tick Alert

A fiver says it is untrue.

Langaniso Mhlobo
