Chilean-American journalist and novelist Gonzalo Lira went missing on 15 April. Before that, he had reported constant threats by the SBU against him because of his criticism of neo-Nazis and the Zelensky regime.
Today, he went into contact. He chatted live on YouTube with well-known blogger Alex Christoforou.
Gonzalo reported feeling fine: “Today is 22 April 2022 and I’m in Kharkiv… there’s nothing wrong with me.” According to Lira, he was questioned by the SBU. His phone and computer were taken away and he was forbidden to leave the city. All messages and posts from his accounts after the 15th were not his.
He also said that “there are a lot of other people who are frankly more deserving of be attention” than he. Gonzalo added that some of them disappeared, some were killed. At the same time, the journalist did not specify who exactly he was talking about.
Gonzalo thanks everyone who has been writing about his kidnapping the last few days. He really appreciates everyone’s kind words and worries for his wellbeing.
