On August 22, warplanes of the US-led coalition conducted airstrikes on several ISIS positions in the town of al-Baghuz on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The UK-based monitoring group also revealed that the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reinforced its positions around ISIS’ pocket on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River over the last few days. The US-led coalition also deployed heavy weapons in the area.
Local observers believe that more than 1,000 ISIS fighters and commanders are currently hiding on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River. Earlier this year, these highly experienced terrorists managed to repel two attacks of US-backed forces.
The US-led coalition and the SDF are preparing to launch a large-scale military operation to eliminate ISIS’ pocket, according to various sources. The operation will mainly target the town of Hajin, the last stronghold of the terrorist group in Syria.
Question No 1, why they delayed so much? Question No 2 do they really want to eliminate ISIS?
Same reason the Saudis/UAE can’t make any progress in Yemen: mercs don’t want to die, no matter how much you pay them. What CENTCOM claims are SDF or ‘allied troops’ in the Euphrates Valley are essentially local Arab tribal village gangs. Mercs in the sense that their leaders offered them as cannon fodder while keeping the U.S. bag of shekels for themselves. Mercs that hate Kurds and won’t take commands from them. And mercs (or common street thugs) that have no intention of dying for U.S. imperialist goals (oil, land, preventing ‘Shia arc’, glory of greater Israel or Saudi Arabia, etc.).
‘Little people’ Kurds in the YPG won’t fight there – it’s not their turf. Their land ‘up north’ is already covered by dozens of U.S. bases. The war is over for them. Maybe a handful of Kurds that get paid – extra – directly by CENTCOM will fight in Deir EzZor, so basically – Kurdish mercs. But they can’t fight in the Arab street gang units because their hatred is mutual. You have to keep them separated.
So CENTCOM is trying to mount a grand offensive against the head-choppers with unmotivated, unwilling gang members and the occasional Kurd merc unit. And they’ve been trying this for the last three months – there is nothing different today besides a ‘renewed effort’. It doesn’t look like CENTCOM is going to get nearly as much funding for their Israeli-styled ‘border guard’ forces as they hoped, so they are in a panic as to how they will hold/occupy al Bukamal/al Qaim. That is, if they can ever get ISIS cleared out of there without committing U.S. troops to combat.
Even the most diehard treasonous Pentagon neocon and Saudi/Israeli-fellator balks at the potential public backlash from bringing dead U.S. soldiers home. Censoring isn’t working anymore – the little people are bound to see pictures. The f’king Syrian Arabs and Kurds that live there are suppose to die for their future U.S. protectorate, not U.S. soldiers.
