US-led Coalition Denies Striking ISIS Prison With SDF Members Despite Existing Video Evidence

Click to see full-size image, By the Official Twitter account of the International Coalition for Operation Inherent Resolve.

On November 30, a spokesman for the US-led coalition, Colonel Sean Ryan, denied that coalition warplanes had carried out an airstrike on an ISIS prison in the middle Euphrates River Valley where fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were kept.

“November 28, coalition strikes destroyed 2 operational facilities and killed 4 ISIS terrorists, in al-Khasmah, Syria. In depth monitoring reduced the risk to civilians and CJTF-OIR [the US-led coalition’s mission in Syria and Iraq] rejects any ISIS propaganda claims on striking an ISIS prison,” Col. Ryan said in a short statement on Twitter.

The statement is an obvious attempt to cover the incident as the ISIS-linked news agency, Amaq, had provided a video showing the bodies of SDF fighters who were killed in the coalition airstrike. Many injured SDF fighters also appeared in the video and accused the coalition of trying to “get rid of them.”

So far, this issue contributed to the growin tension between the Kurdish-dominated SDF and the Arab population in the SDF-held areas because all the fighters who had been recently captured by ISIS were Arabs. According to local observers, many of these fighters may have been forced to join the ranks of the Kurdish-dominated group under a conscription law, which was introduced earlier this year.

FlorianGeyer

gustavo

WOW, why do kurds let to continue being managed by USA ? Yes, $$$ there are strong compromises. Fools at the beginning, fools at the end.

Promitheas Apollonious

kurds are zionist bitches and puppets.

potcracker2588

spot on

Tudor Miron

Because their leaders don’t give a hoot about their own people. Shekels – that’s all they care about.

Jens Holm

I thought it was Lira down there ???

Tudor Miron

You are wrong as always. Or do you try to claim that Turkey and Kurds are best friends now? That would be to much even for your kind.

s Slippy

He is a kurdish refugee who has settled in Sweden. Id encourage him to fight in Afrin if I were you

Jens Holm

Me Gustavo never understand.

rudy

BORDEL DE MERDE THESE STUPID ASSHOLES NEVER LEARN? IN THE EARLY 1970’s they did the same to us during the big NATO manoeuvers in Germany, we sended a message to Nato HQ,”Enemy HQ on top of us”, and they nuked the HQ without warning us without giving us some time to escape, those goddamnedbloodybastards, rear echelon motherfuckers !! !

Jens Holm

Yes, not even sunglasses and umbrellas was send.

Smaug

Dear South Front: Once again you are taking ISIS’ word for it simply because it fits your agenda. This ain’t much of video evidence, given these men could just as easily be under threat of punishment or simply not really be prisoners at all. Even if so, it would be impossible to be sure that the US knew it was a prison when we bombed it. But more importantly, the reason given is clearly bull. WHY ON EARTH WOULD WE WANT TO ELIMINATE THE PRISONERS.

Barba_Papa

They’re Americans. They always bomb their own allies by accident. More British soldiers were killed in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom by the US air force then by the Iraqi army.

Smaug

You’re not helping your case by copycatting my syntax, especially when combined with a clear lack of knowledge on the subject.

Tudor Miron

Same reason that you bomb funeral and weddings? Same reason that you annihilated hundreds of thousands of civillians in Hioroshima and Nagasaki?

Willing Conscience (The Truths

They were forced into conscription, it was reported on many times by the media. What wasn’t reported on is the fact it’s actually illegal and should have been condemned by the UN, but wasn’t. Some African nations forcibly recruit people into their armies against their will, and they’re rightly condemned for it, the US does it and not a peep [the US conscripts people to take over their own country]. This has been happening since january when Erdogan started heading east into US controlled territory and the Kurds began protest striking for the second time. Kurds aren’t fighting unless they have to now, it’s all the Arab and Christian militias fighting at Hajin, Kurds will fight only when they have to now, to defend themselves and their assets. They may start fighting again soon though, a hell of a lot of their political leadership has just switched from the pro Assad reconciliation camp [they joined some time after january], back to the pro US camp, so I think they may be starting to get at least some of what they want out of Trump, the strike may be working [I didn’t think it would], we may soon see the Kurds getting back into battle, I’m hoping they don’t though, and I bet Assad and Putin are hoping they don’t either.

Jens Holm

I think its biased the other way.

I would like to make my guess too even its a guess. To me real prisons are hard buildings. SDFs takes it and defend it. And ISIS destroy the isolated pocket named jail.

And the SDF/arab again is the usual – I stay stupid whatever is shown of pics, maps and comments based on facts.

It was the arabs from the DEZ Zor province, which would take to the river. They were supported mainly by the SDF arabs. Therefore its not strange many of those die there by figtings as well as “friendly” fire is possible.
