The ineffective attempts of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces to break the ISIS defenses in Manbij have pushed the US-led coalition to increase air strikes in the urban area of the city. Recently, 8 coalition air strikes hit “ISIS positions” in Manbij’s residential areas, inflicting obvious “collateral damage” to the local population.
According pro-Kurdish sources, SDF units are consolidating the gains in the western and northern urban areas of the city. Nonetheless, ground reports clearly depict that the strategically the situation has not changed in Manbij. The ISIS terrorist group hold the major part of the city and the US-led SDF is not able to reach the city center.
What a distastefully coloured article again. Ineffective says who? It’s a siege, it’s house to house combat. What do you expect? Clear them out a la Rohirrim in LOTR? Is this your own “analysis”? Their advance has been greater than the SAA over the past months (which has only been losing territory). Just another quality southfront article written by a random internet couch general.
I was with you until you said the SAA has only lost territory. They’ve actually made some advances in Aleppo and East Goutha.
You can choose to be informed by another internet media if you want. I believe Southfront is pro russian. And you are not :D
