Fast-attack vessels of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps came close to a US.Navy ship in the Strait of Hormuz [a strait between the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf] on Saturday, Reuters reported, citing a US official.
“The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the boats came within 600 yards (meters) of the USNS Invincible, a tracking ship, and stopped. The Invincible and three ships from the British Royal Navy accompanying it had to change course.
The official said attempts were made to communicate over radio, but there was no response and the interaction was “unsafe and unprofessional,”” the article reads.

Who knows the circumstances of this incident. What really irked me was the whining over Iran’s testing of a short range anti-ship missile on a floating barge. Tom Cotton nearly had a seizure, apparently he thinks it is okay for the U.S. to routinely plan bombing missions in Iran but outrageous if Iran tests weapons systems for defense. Sure, it would be nice if the world agreed to be our punching bag but that’s not something adults should realistically expect.
The Iranians are being as aggressive as the Russians by having patrols outside their front doors. :)

How would they react if Iranian Navy ships were near New York Harbor or the British lapdogs’ Thames Estuary?
That is easy to answer.
It would depend on them being in international waters or not. Were Iran to be say 20 miles away from New York, the US could say nothing, just like Iran can not do anything, other then starting a war, when US navy stays in international waters away from the Iranian coast.
