US Preparing For Military Invasion In Venezuela: Russian Security Council Secretary

Click to see the full-size image

The United States is preparing for a military invasion in Venezuela to remove legally elected incumbent President Maduro from power, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said on February 26.

“By showing sarcasm and arrogance towards the Venezuelan people, the United States is preparing a military invasion on an independent state. The transfer of American special forces to Puerto Rico, the landing of US forces in Colombia and other facts clearly indicate that the Pentagon is reinforcing the grouping of troops in the region in order to overthrow the lawfully elected incumbent president (Nicolas) Maduro,” Patrushev stressed, according to Sputnik.

Patrushev pointed out that the deployment of US forces in Puerto Rico and Colombia as well as other facts indicate that the US military is preparing a force to participate in the agression against Venezuela.

The security official explained that Venezuela is not accepting US humanitarian aid because it understands that Washington is preparing to overthrow the democratically elected government.

“And the Venezuelan people understand this well. Hence, such a reaction, the refusal to accept cargo from the aggressor country and the support of their president,” he added.

Patrushev revealed that the US proposed to Russia to hold separate talks on Venezuela and Moscow agreed. However, later the US started using far-fetched pretexts to avoid these consultations, Patrushev noted.

Won’t happen. Where are the proxies? US can’t and won’t fight without having proxies.

Daniel Apaza

Proxies are in the middleeast. Will jihadist come to Venezuela and attack? Will Colombia and Brazil let the U.S. attack from their land?

jm74

Anybody can be a proxy, you don’t have to be from the ME, even a drug warlord and his militia will do.

Syria insider

There are a shit load of those bastards in Colombia…..

R PLobo

Shit and load – the south American vassals are not at the level of the ME vassals like KSA. Unless the US is willing to attack Venezuela directly there will be no proxy army of head choppers like in Syria. Also there is not easy conduit like Turkey in South America to funnel all mercs into Venezuela.

purplelibraryguy

Sure there is. Most of Venezuela’s borders are with states who would bend over backwards to help the US push thugs and weapons across. Colombia all the time, Brazil ever since it got a fascist president, and what’s the other, British Guiana or some damn thing? They won’t stand in the Americans’ way. And while they lack a certain suicide-bombing fanaticism, there’s plenty vicious paramilitary thugs with combat experience in Colombia which if anything the Colombian government would rather find something for them to do outside of Colombia where their ongoing killings are a bit of an embarrassment now that the civil war is supposedly over. The Americans might even be able to get the Brazilian and Colombian militaries to officially invade. Coalition of the willing, and all that. It might not be smart, there’d be a lot of backlash, particularly in Brazil, but they could likely do it. The results of all this would be horrible messy destruction rather than a clean takeover of Venezuela, but that generally hasn’t stopped the Americans before.

Joao Paulo Calife

Our President was elected by the majority of Brazilians, is doing a good job and is not fascist. Moreover, our Vice President, who is an Army General, has ruled out the use of force. It seems that in these days anyone who is not a Stalinist is called a fascist .

Sinbad2

The election was fixed by the US.

Joao Paulo Calife

Really?

Anyone living in Brazil or visiting Brazil in the months before elections knew that Bolsonaro would win.

He had massive support from lower and midlle classes. have you ever been to Brazil?

Sinbad2

When I say the US fixed the election, I don’t mean they tampered with ballot boxes. They arrange for good publicity for their candidate, usually a fascist, and bad publicity for the opponent.

5 years from now most Brazilians will be poorer, because Bolsonaro will have allowed a lot of Brazil’s wealth to be transferred to American ownership.

Joao Paulo Calife

Bad publicity for the opponent: Major recession during Dilma Roussef government, that sent many lower middle class citizens back to poverty. Biggest corruption scandal in Brazil Former president Lula da silva jailed for corruption What you call opponents are the ones responsible for everything mentioned above, not US fault.

Sinbad2

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, wait 5 years and see the truth, if you can handle the truth.

Ewan

You don’t have to have been in Brazil to know whats going on there – You are proof of someone who lives in Brazil yet doesnt know whats going on

Sinbad2

Does he live in Brazil, or is he an American plant?

Joao Paulo Calife

do you live in Cuba?

purplelibraryguy

Don’t be silly. He was a military man in a fascist military dictatorship and he’s constantly waxing nostalgic about the good old days. He’s a fascist. Not a maybe-fascist, not the kind of Trump thug that people like to call fascist because it seems somehow fitting. He’s an actual fascist. Whether he’s doing a good job I couldn’t say, but if he is it’s only because he has found it expedient to rein in his main political impulses.

Joao Paulo Calife

Can you define what is a fascist?

purplelibraryguy

Are you flippin’ kidding me? Fine, a primer. Fascism has a number of characteristics. The difference between more normal right wing politics and fascism is somewhat like the difference between a normal religion and a cult–most religions will have some of the characteristics typical of cults, but the more of those characteristics it has the more cult-like it will be, and at a certain level you can pretty much look at something and say “That’s a cult”. Fascism generally strongly values the military, militarism, and violence. Bolsonaro, check. Dude is military, strongly values the military, and talks about doing violent things all the time.

It does not value the rule of law or things like “due process”, preferring decisive direct action with little attention to the costs. Bolsonaro, check. It is generally very macho, valuing males over females, partly because of the association between traditional masculinity and violence. Bolsonaro, check. It values tradition, at least certain sorts of tradition, tending to emphasize nostalgia, particularly nostalgia to times imagined to have more order, stronger social control (“traditional morality”), and less democracy. Bolsonaro, check. It emphasizes the single strong leader, who everyone is supposed to follow. Bolsonaro, check. Conversely, it sees little value in democracy or checks and balances which might hinder the strong leader. Bolsonaro, check.

It is impatient with or even opposed to rationalism, education, intellectualism and intellectual elitism, preferring action based on emotional impulse. I don’t really know if this applies to Bolsonaro, but I’d be kind of surprised if it didn’t. It tends to use scapegoats to rally people against not just external, but internal enemies, usually racial, usually also anyone seen to violate supposed traditional morality (ie teh gayz). Bolsonaro, wants to burn out the indigenous and do violent stuff to gays, check. Fascism is of course violently opposed to socialism, trade unionism, and similar organizations of the lower classes, such as in Brazil the MST. Bolsonaro, check.

He’s a fascist. For further information try Wikipedia on “Fascism” and “Definitions of Fascism”.

Joao Paulo Calife

Wrong. Fascism refers to a political ideology that can be briefly defined ina famous saying everything for the State, everything in the State, everything by the State. Fascists love trade unions We had one fascist dictator in Brazil: Getúlio Vargas. Bolsonaro burning out indigenous people? That´s new for me By the way, Maduro has been shooting and killing índians in the Venezuelan/Brazilian border, they come to our hospitals to be treated.

I´m having lots of fun here in SF!

purplelibraryguy

Fascists love trade unions?! Yeah, tell that to all the unionists that have had their unions banned, been assassinated, jailed, shot, tortured and on and on by fascists. If you can tell that whopper with a metaphorically straight face, I’ll just have to assume everything you say is a lie. Bye!

Ewan

You are an idiot. US meddling has helped bring a Pro US right wing government to power in Brazil and kick out the pro poor leftwing – anyone with half a brain can tell you who that benefits. only you think Southfront Readers are dumb

Joao Paulo Calife

Pro poor leff wing?? You got to be kidding me. Brazil has been ruled for 16 years ( 4presidential terms) by a coalition of left wing parties. The result? One of the biggest economic recession in history, widespread corruption and the biggest scandal in the corporate world : the plundering of Petrobras. The most importante leaders of the Workers Party are in jail. Those are facts and not my opinion. Open your eyes.

Bob

Bolsonaro has forcibly ordered thousands of Brazilian doctors and trainees home from Cuba – and demanded Cuban doctors and trainees in Brazil cease sending any salary remittances home – effectively destroying a reciprocal, regional, bilateral medical aid and training exchange program negotiated by prior Brazilian President Rousseff in 2013. This means pulling around 8000 Brazilian doctors and trainees out of Cuba, and impacting future presence of around 10,000 Cuban doctors and trainees in Brazil. This is nothing more than Bolsonaro’s gratuitous application and extension of the US’ long term anti-Cuban foreign policy – to the detriment of broader regional medical training and development. Bolsonaro is Washington’s vassal.

Joao Paulo Calife

No, you are misinformed or lying. Cuban doctors are hostages to the Cuban Dictatorship, their families were not allowed to come to |brazil with them and they received a very small amount of the salary; thee majority of the salary went to the Cuban government.

Bolsonaro said that he wanted to pay the integral salary to the doctors and wanted their families in Brazil. Cuba then decided to call them back. Slaves. Why do you think their families were not allowed to come to Brazil?. It seems prety obvious to me that once out of the Prison Island they wouldn´t be willing to return…

Now all avaiable positions have been occupied by Brazilian Doctors.

Sinbad2

A horrible messy destruction would stop Venezuelan oil exports, which is what the US wants in the short term. America has been targeting oil exporters, so America can sell its oil at a high price.

All wars are about money, and money is Americas god.

purplelibraryguy

You’d think if all the US wanted was higher oil prices they could just ask the Saudis to drop production. They may want higher oil prices, but not until Venezuela is nobbled–that was part of the point of dumping oil prices in the first place.

Sinbad2

The Saudis have cut production, 468,000bpd in December , but they need money to fund the US/Saudi war against Yemen and Syria. The US has targeted Libya Syria Russia Iran Nigeria and Venezuela, now what do those countries have in common? Do you think it’s a coincidence? America is in deep financial shit, and is trying to shoot its way out of debt.

R PLobo

There are plenty of mercs in Colombia but without the suicide bombing lunatics of the ME. The biggest problem that the SAA encountered in Syria was the brainwashed wahhabi tools who were prepared to die for the ksa zionist whores. That kind of programming simply does not exist in South America. Look at what has happened on the border Venezuela/Colombia – tools getting paid to cause trouble but nothing like the chaos that happened in Syria in 2011. In Syria of 2011 the seeds had already been planted for a merc insurrection – the SAA was weak and subsequently stretched too thin. Venezuela has a professional army that can stand up against a proxy invasion – especially one without the fanatics of wahhabism. South America is a completely different mentality than the ME. Brasil – even under the vassal Jair Bolsonaro is only motivated by self interest. There is no gain for the South American oligarchs for a war with Venezuela – how is handing over Venezuela to the US a benefit to them? The US can only be successful in South America when the local military is on board. That simply will not happen in Venezuela. Even now the so called Lima Group is not on board for an invasion and with good reason = no gain for the local grand senhors.

purplelibraryguy

I’d agree that the existing Colombian paramilitaries would not on their own be able to take down the Venezuelan state, or even come that close. The Americans could augment them a la “contras”, but Venezuela is a good deal bigger than Nicaragua. Still, they could cause a lot of trouble and the US wouldn’t stop “making the economy scream” in the mean while . . . be a bad business.

As to the Brazilian or Colombian governments refusing to send in troops . . .

Well, perhaps. At least, not without the Americans sweetening the pot significantly. But they might do that; there’s always the next pot of “Plan Colombia” style military aid and so on. Trade concessions, stake in the Venezuelan oilfields for Petrobras . . .

RusskiiTroll54

about 300 rats from isisraell went to Brazil some week ago i wonder for what reason, if not preparing the ground for a backstab from Brazil into Venezuela, hmmm.

Joao Paulo Calife

A rescue team from Israel came to Brazil to assist in the search and rescue operations in a major disaster in Brumadinho. Is this what you’re talking about?

Ewan

And you believe that Israel came to “help” – yeah right, help themselves by helping USA. Bolsonaro is a US puppet

pepa65

Israel, the expert in dams, iron mining, and jungle conditions — NOT!

Joao Paulo Calife

They are experts in search and rescue missions.

Bob

If comes to it, Pentagon’s proxies likely be pre-prepared Colombian paramilitaries that will masquerade as exiled Venezuelans, with Brazilian mercenaries thrown in the mix, alongside US special forces field command/operatives. The unfortunate reality of current Neo-Con driven US foreign policy.

R PLobo

The US in South America can count on no one. Even the most right wing drug running vassals know that they are completely expendable to the gringos. Proxy war will not work – no moderate head chopper suicide warfare. A direct attack will bring in Russian advisors and Russian warships off the coast, The US will be completely exposed to a counter attack and drawn out Vietnam conflict in Venezuela.

purplelibraryguy

I really hope it doesn’t go that far. This whole thing seems to have been done rather hastily, in hopes that they’d just be able to prompt a pro-Guaido military coup and all the Venezuelan government apparatus would start obeying Guaido instead of Maduro. That didn’t happen (and it was stupid of them to think it would), and now they’re left huffing and puffing and wondering whether they will be worse off losing face or getting into another new Vietnam. The main hope is that Trump never seems to mind changing directions 180 and pretending nothing happened.

But make no mistake, the US can fuck up Venezuela if they decide they really want to. They probably can’t bring down the system with just beefed up Colombian paramilitaries (although they could cause a lot of trouble that way) because the Venezuelan military is used to those guys and seems fairly competent. But they could attack directly, and there is little Russia could or would do about it. And there’s a solid chance that if they leaned on them hard enough, they could get Brazil and/or Colombia to attack.

The problems would be political. The whole thing would turn into another horrible quagmire full of atrocities and massive bloodshed, and it would be incredibly unpopular in Latin America. They could quite easily find that they’d gained–or at least, destroyed–Venezuela, at the cost of losing Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, and quite likely Brazil itself. A lot of those “Lima Group” countries are either quasi-democratic or to the extent they’re dictatorships (Honduras) they’re not securely in control. They could flip against the US if people get mad enough.

Peter Bozich

The U.S is in a hurry to cause as much chaos and destruction to any country that is a friend of Russia or China. Unfortunately Venezuela does not have nuclear weapons, to keep this treacherous rogue state away from its doors. Once the financial chaos engulfs the U.S, and soon, regime changes will hopefully be a thing of the past. The U.S will be in a crisis very few can imagine once their dollar crashes and burns, then the population will be looking for heads to roll. Think yellow vest movement many times bigger.

Real Anti-Racist Action

Believe me, many Americans want the debt-dollar to crash. Our Founding Fathers were 100% against the international UK banks. Americans want to be liberated from our Zionist overlords. We want our military to never leave American shores. We want to be left out of all international politics. We want to have no alliance with any nation on earth. Just to be friendly with all who want to be friendly.

Sinbad2

If only.

Lena Jones

Pax Americana’s power-hemorrhaging in the Middle East is being compensated for in South America. But it won’t work. The world has changed now: things are not what they used to be. This is what the megalomaniac globalist-neocon leaders in America are finding hard to admit to. But for its nukes, the US threat now is diminishing and the trend will continue. Thank you neocons for your insanity and your satanic jew overreach.

Real Anti-Racist Action

Venezuela is a friend of Russia. Israel is a friend of the US. Russia should tit for tat build up on Israels borders. Tank for tank, solder for solder. Once the US sees the patter that whatever the US does to Venezuela, Russia will do to Israel. Then the Israeli lobby in the US all of the sudden out of thin air will go into anti-war mode against Venezuela. Simply plain logic. Of The US bombs Venezuela one time, Russia bombs Israel one time. Tit for tat. Or if Russia wants another strategy, try this. Tell the US for every country for now on that you engage in regime change. Russia will outfit one nation with 4 battalions of S-400 system. If the US does not change, within a decade a number of countries will be off limits for US aircraft permanently.

Tommy Jensen

As long as it is good for International usury loans and Israel´s security, I´m in. Maduro´s and your days are numbered folks.

Sinbad2

The US has been attacking Latin America for a long time, this is just the latest example of their bestiality.

“I heard Woodrow Wilson’s guns I heard Maria crying Late last night I heard the news That was dying Veracruz was dying Someone called Maria’s name I swear it was my father’s voice Saying, “If you stay you’ll all be slain You must leave now – you have no choice Take the servants and ride west Keep the child close to your chest When the American troops withdraw Let Zapata take the rest” (Warren Zevon)

Smaug

Dear South Front: We, as Americans, care nothing for what you would call a pretext. We never actually argue about the legality of a war, but of the ethics of it (the former can be contorted to suit the latter). When Washington finally gets off their buts and declares war on the Socialists, we’ll just kick in the doors and kill fools. Diplomats can take care of their own problems.

Sinbad2

Dear South Front: We, as Americans, care for nothing but money. We never actually argue about the legality of a war, only the profit.

Raptar Driver

Good to see that the Russians are on top of this with no delusions.

Jacob Wohl

My guess is US will launch a massive search and destroy enemy air defenses campaign to destroy all of Venezuela’s air defense systems/radars (SEAD) using tomahawk missiles and over 50 F-35, B-2 stealth bombers, F-22 stealth fighters. Followed by a massive shock and awe campaign led by a USS Strike group with dozens of F-18 jets. Then, B-52 and B-1 strategic bombers from Florida and Puerto Rico will launch massive JDAM strikes against Venezuelan Military bases/strategic installations. Next will be a special operations force led by SEAL, USMC, MARSOC alongside Brazilian and Columbian Army troops under the support of F-15 strike bombers, F-18s, A-10 wharthogs, AC-130s, and Apache Gunships. In other words, Venezuela has no chance if their air defense fails them. And even if it doesn’t, they still don’t have much of a chance.

Pave Way IV

You forgot the infrastructure. The US Coalición de Satanás (Coalition of Satan) will maximize the pain on the little people by destroying as much critical infrastructure as humanly possible. Unfortunate, but it’s for the children! They’ll thank us one day.

Water, waste treatment and electricity go first in countries that already have little food or medicine. That will help ensure massive outbreaks of measles, diphtheria and malaria in Venezuela. They’re already resurgent there again thanks to years of US sanctions. I wonder if we’re going to smallpox them?

Fleeing refugees will spread these diseases to the now vulnerable border regions of Colombia and Brazil, whose local medical infrastructure is already near collapse from past waves of diseased Venezuelan refugees. Better send some ‘humanitarian’ US troops to both of those countries to ‘help the people’, because we’re nice like that. Oh, did I mention the massive vaccination program that will be mandated by US occupation troops? Hey, nothing dangerous in this genetically-engineered Canadian horsepox vaccine – it’s good for you! (sign this liability waiver first, por favor…)

Telecom? Internet? Well, um… we’re already secretly taking that out today using our in-country terrorists. ‘Someone’ is cutting Venezuelan fiber optic cables, taking out their switching gear and blaming the phone and internet outages on Maduro. Because that commie Maduro has a history of trying to control the narrative, not the freedom-loving US. We always tell the truth and would never censor stuff we don’t like on the internet. Neither does Facebook!

Oil infrastructure? That’s already in bad shape. The real US interest would be making the little people suffer as much as possible by severe gasoline and diesel fuel shortages. We’re already all over that. Sanctions have stopped nearly all light dilutents and naphthalene from getting to Venezuela, meaning they can’t move their heavy crude to refineries or export terminals, and can’t possibly refine or blend enough gasoline or diesel domestically. Shortages any day now. Fuel was heavily subsidized and affordable to most poor Venezuelans – not any more. Besides, they probably don’t have jobs or money to buy food, so what do they need a car for… unless their evil Maduro loyalists!

If nothing else, the US and Lima Coalición de Sataná psychopaths are predictable:

Team Freedom: “Pain, misery and death will set you free from Maduro, people of Venezuela – and we’re bringing enough f’king freedom for everybody!” https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/92216b8affa8f8dad3eadb1f1f4c6e08c15899d3a52cacbb1567690e6560f6ad.png

goingbrokes

Yeah – team freedom: “we’ll free you of Maduro, we’ll free you of your oil, we’ll free many of you of your souls, and we’ll free many of you of your wealth too. We are freedom because we are free to kill you whenever we want!”

And btw the newspeak meaning of the word democracy is now “murder and destruction”. So many think tanks and shady organisations – Murder and Destruction Now!
