Israel US joint air force war games
The recent Israeli strikes on the eastern Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor were carried out with intelligence provided by the US, the Associated Press, AP, reported on January 13.
A US intelligence official with knowledge on the matter told the agency that the strikes targeted a series of warehouses in Deir Ezzor that were being used in a “pipeline” to store and stage Iranian weapons and components for the country’s Islamic nuclear program.
The strikes wiped out a number of military positions located between Deir Ezzor city and the town of al-Bukamal on the border with Iraq.
“US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed Tuesday’s airstrike with Yossi Cohen, chief of Israel’s spy agency Mossad, at a public meeting in the popular Washington restaurant Café Milano on Monday,” the unnamed official told the AP.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 57 fighters were killed in the Israeli strikes. However, the al-Mayadeen TV, which is close to Damascus, reported that a Syrian service member was killed and at least 14 others were injured.
The US involvement in the strikes, which were the largest attack by Israel on Syria since the beginning of this year, is a clear message to Iran. Washington has been backing Israel’s undeclared war on Iranian forces in Syria since the very beginning. This support will apparently go on after the departure of the current administration.

With similar air assaults targeting high value targets in Syria proper, yet things doesn’t add up.
We can not do it all from the air, that is why I keep saying here we need to start a ground operation and clean the other side of the Golan. The SAA has failed in doing so, Turkey did the same in Syria when it hurt their interests. The warnings we give to the SAA commanders are falling on deaf ears, it’s time to roll the tanks.
Lets be honest, IDF helped Al Nusra and few terror group off-shoot during the hay days of rebel onslaughts. Russia, SAA and IRGC won’t let that happen. More bloods get spilled on land than on air. Accumulating personnel near Golan heights for an invasion is something israel can’t afford in next 2 years.
See, Air operations are zero risk medium return type of maneuvers IDF can indulge in for now.
