US government-purchased weapons are appearing in the hands of ISIS terrorists in Yemen, according to an investigation published by Dilyana Gaytandzhieva on September 1st.
It all started with her receiving documents from an anonymous source from the Serbian companies Krusik and Jugoimport SDPR. These included internal emails, memos, contacts, delivery schedules and specifically packing lists, with their lot numbers of weapons and the buyers.
Some of the documents include scanned passports of arms dealers and US, Saudi Arabia and UAE government officials. According to the information gathered from the documents, these individuals have been allegedly involved into trafficking 3 million pieces of Serbian-made mortar shells and rockets over the last three years.
The lot number of the Serbian weapons, the mortal shells in the hands of the ISIS terrorists could be traced to their original buyer – the US government.
The Saudi-led intervention in Yemen is a war that has led to one of the worst humanitarian crisis, with 24 million people in urgent need of assistance and protection.
It has the Ansar Allah movemment (the Houthis) on the one side, and Saudi Arabia and UAE on the other. The US allegedly is present, mostly to provide some limited support and supposedly only fights against ISIS, which is active in the country to mostly complicate the situation. These documents substantiate claims that the US isn’t actually fighting against ISIS, but is rather supporting it in the proxy fight against Iran.
On July 27th, 2019, ISIS released a propaganda video of its Yemen branch. Among the usual atrocities, it showed people handling mortar shells.
“One 5-second frame shows weapons purchased by the US government in the hands of the terrorists. Here is how I discovered that. The mark on the mortar shells is clearly visible – 82 mm M74 HE KV lot 04/18. The two letters KV mean that those mortar shells were manufactured by the Serbian arms factory Krusik (K stands for Krusik and V – for Valjevo, the town where the factory is located). The following digits 04/18 mean that the mortar shells are lot 04, produced in 2018.”

Following through that lead, it was discovered that the American company Alliant Techsystems LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of ATK Orbital, USA) on behalf of the US Government purchased the lot from the Serbian company.
“The exporter was the Serbian state-owned company Jugoimport SDPR. The packing list of the weapons for their export was signed on 12 February 2018. They were purchased under the contract MP00135498 between Jugoimports SDPR and Alliant Techsystems LLC, USA. The quantity of the weapons was 10,500 pcs.”

The contract was for the total purchase of 105,150 mortar shells, “for the needs of the US government.” It is at an exact value of $8,043,975.
The shipping address in the contract is LCAAP Receiving 25201 East 78 Highway, Independence MO 64056. This is the address of Lake City Army Ammunition Plant – a U.S. government-owned facility in north-eastern Independence, Missouri.
But, in the attached documents the actual shipping address is in Afghanistan – Afghan National Army Ammo depot 22 Bankers, Pol-e-Charki, Afghanistan, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A CJ4). This is a US Department of Defense which tracks shipment delivery from issue to end user and coordinates the delivery to the ammunition depot in Kabul.
The documents further show that the weapons were purchased under a US Federal Contract W52P1J16D0058-0007. The respective registry shows that the Federal Contract is of a value of $50,426,847 between Alliant Techsystems LLC and the US Department of the Army for the delivery of non-US standard weapons to Afghanistan in 2017-2018.

All of this was delivered to ISIS under the cover of NATO Operation Resolute Support.
“On 3 April 2018 Jugoimport SDPR (the exporter) sent an e-mail to Krusik (the arms manufacturer) to confirm a shipment on a Silk Way West Airlines flight 7L9632 on 15 April 2018 to the destination Belgrade-Kabul-Baku. Jugoimport SDPR sent three packing lists so that Krusik prepare the shipment. The three packing lists were for the lots 04/18., 06/18, and 07/18 (10,500 pcs., 2,406 pcs., and 2,920 pcs. of mortar shells 82 mm M74 HE respectively). Alliant Techsystems LLC is indicated as the consignee of the weapons.”

On the very next day, the shipments planned for export on May 15th had to sent on May 8th and vice versa. No reason was given for the change-up.

The company that transported the shipments was Silk Way, which Dilyana had already investigated in the past. It was allegedly transporting weapons under the guise of diplomatic flights.
The mortar shells featured in the Islamic State video in Yemen were shipped on a Silk Way flight Belgrade-Kabul booked for May 8th 2018.
Separately, a total of approximately 40,000 pieces of 82 mm mortar shells HE were transported on four Silk Way flights in May 2018 with the end user being the Afghan National Police. These were also purchased by Alliant Techsystems LLC (ATK) on behalf of the US Department of the Army under a $81.5 million US federal contract W52P1J16D0058-0006.

According to the US Federal contracts registry, the contract W52P1J16D0058-0006 is for the delivery of non-US standard ammunition and mortar weapon systems.

The country of origin this time isn’t Serbia, it’s Bulgaria, thus Bulgarian-made weapons were also purchased.
These were delivered via Silk Way Airlines flights out of Burgas, Bulgaria on April 25th, May 18th and 29th, 2018. Bulgarian AR-SF rifles appear in the hands of the ISIS terrorists in Yemen in the same video.
In an email between Jugoimport and Krusik dated March 15th 2018 it showed that weapons intended for the Afghan National Police were shipped to the storage depot 22 Bunkers, Pol-e Charki, Kabul.
The same depot was investigated by the US Senate Committee after it was revealed that the PMC Blackwater had smuggled weapons for use by the Afghan Police.
The investigation sheds quite a bit of light on reports that the US is supporting terrorists in the Middle East. Dilyana Gaytandzhieva initially investigated Silk Way Airlines thoroughly, and how it was used to deliver and keep delivering weapons to ISIS and other militant groups. Her continuous investigations are leading to quite a few revelations, tying Eastern European weapon producers, US-government agencies and Middle East terrorist groups.
