US special forces were behind an operation that thwarted an attempt by pro-Iranian factions to launch a drone attack from the eastern Iraqi province of Diyala, Iraqi sources reported on April 24.
The Iraqi Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency had claimed responsibility for the special operation, which took place near Baqubah city on April 19.
Iraqi security sources said on April 22 that intelligence officers intercepted two vehicles with official government number plates which were moving two suicide drones to a launch site. The officers seized the two drones, which were reportedly prepared for an attack on an unspecified Iraqi oil refinery.
The official Iraqi narrative was dismissed by Iraqi sources, including researcher Blesa Shaways, who said that the operation was carried out by US special forces.
According to Shaways, the operation involved six UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook military helicopters. During the operation, US special forces detained two Iranian military advisors and a senior commander of the Iraqi Kata’ib Hezbollah named Yasir Muhsin.
The two Iranian military advisors were imminently released. However, Mushin is supposedly still detained by either US or Iraqi forces.
So far, there have been no comments on these serious claims from the US, the Iraq, Iran or Kata’ib Hezbollah. Usually, false claims are quickly denied, especially by the Iraqi government.
Pro-Iranian factions carried out many attacks on US bases and diplomatic mission in Iraq following the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, and Commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassim Soleimani more than two years ago.
The Iraqi intelligence and security forces don’t usually carry out preemptive operations against pro-Iranian factions. Due to this, it is possible that the US played a role in Diyala operation. More details on the operation will likely surface soon.
Advice for Katai’b the next time you hear ‘Ride of the Valkyries’, just abandon the truck and hide.
lol
They get out or yanquis start flying like pigs again. Remember yanquis are trapped in their bases, not Iraqis, they killed invading pigs before when they had 8 years of war with Iran and were attacking Kuwait. Now, Iraq PMUs aren’t fighting anyone and are ready. They even show that they attack KSA and UAE as well if needed.

fake news
Could be and it would fuking great if SF would link their “Iraqi sources reported on April 24” as well.
Here’s a novel idea: Get the hell out of other peoples countries that have nothing to do with you. That are 10,000 miles away from your border and you invaded based upon LIES.
A perspective. Russia did not spend 6 to 8 weeks bombing Ukraine into the stone age before entering The country, like Libya, Iraq and Yugoslavia. So yes, this war is going to be fought for a long time. With all the people fleeing Ukraine and the likely loss of territory and Russian speaking population, who will be left?
Camera-shy drones hiding under molded carpets?
Hahaha
They are going to make a drone out of the car at this point.
it didn’t work out well. time to call the white helmets.
Russia should arm these freedom fighters with manpads, AT and better artillery to kill some American terrorists with and take back their country! It’s the least they can do to pay back for US arming nazi terrorists in Ukraine.
Both of these forces are usurpers. The first want to implement neoliberalism. The second want to implement radical Islam.
Absurd propaganda. Sagging pants amerifag looks like your typical DEA scumbag who would otherwise get a job at TESCO
Good observation, typo usa/cia bullshit using paid actors or isis to pretend they are on top of things, when the truth is they aint, nor have the proper balls unless super drugged up to take on a real fight!
I think those Iranians had bombs in their shoes.
I need a better scorecard to keep track of the players. So Iranians and Hezbollah (didn’t know there was a franchise of that in Iraq) were going to attack the US sector in eastern Syria (illegally occupied) from Iraq, the country we “liberated”. Is Iraq even a thing anymore, as in nation-state? Seems like just a patchwork of different factions and oil interests. Somehow I doubt any “government” in Baghdad has any authority over much of the territory.
I support Hezbollah in Syria and Iraq but why the hell would you release them? The US put in all that effort to carry out an operation only to release to high value targets? Doesn’t make sense to me…..
They infiltrate groups with assets. Those released likely were assets.
Could just as easily be fighting SDF or ISIS (if there is a difference, apart from being different arms of the same body). Isn’t that why the US is there too?
