US Special Forces Deployed Lots Of Armored Vehicles In Manbij Countryside – Photo Report

The Reddid user, @Berkyx, has posted an intersting set of photos, depicting armored vehicles of the US Special Forces deployed in the area of the Syrian city of Manbij.

Photos show a significant number of US troops and Stryker armored fighting vehicles in the area of Manbij on Sunday.

“The coalition has increased its force presence in and around Manbij to deter any hostile action against the city and its civilians, to enhance local governance and to ensure there is no persistent YPG [the Kurdish People’s Protection Units] presence,” the New Yourk Times quoted a US military spokesman as saying.

An interesting fact that the US spokesman used the YPG acronym of Kurdish forces operating in the area. For about a year, the Pentagon and the mainstream media had been arguing that there were some “Arab force” on the ground in the area of Manbij, naming this force the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF).

Indeed, the SDF predominantly conists of Kurdish YPG units and the SDF brand has been created in order to hide the YPG presence on the ground.

Earlier this month, reports appeared that the US Special Forces had set up a military base in Manbij in order to “defend” US-backed Kurdish forces from the possible Turkish military operation in the area.

Ankara describes US-backed Kurdish forces as a branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), a militant organization described by the Turkish government as a terrorist group.

Meanwhile, Syrian troops have been also deployed in the Manbij countryside in order to prevent the Turkish-Kurdiash confrontation, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

What they meant is they dont want ypg to dominate the sdf too much, their hve been intragroup tensions before. But for gods sake, sanadid , seljuk, and other turkmen brigdes, gozarto, jarabulus hawks, northern sun, jaysh thuwar, liwa tahrir, ahrar raqqa, thuwar raqqa, raqqa hawks, and many tribal and ex srf/hazzm/ fsa brigades and battalions make up the sdf, along with many many arab and turkmen locals from aleppo, hasakah raqqa and dez that simply join as sdf… hundreds at a time after completing training, its not JUst ypg. US military convoy in Syria – yet another illegal invasion force. When International Law says you can’t just invade and depose another state leadership you don’t much like, what does US do, creates a feedback loop, whereby, they manufacture a ‘crisis’ by whatever means necessary – arming terrorists, no problem – then use their military force to intervene in said ‘crisis’. Result – occupation of the foreign territory they want to control.
