US troops are withdrawing from the border area with Turkey in northeastern Syria.

In a statement released on October 6, the White House de-facto gave a green light to the Turkish military operation in the area. Washington said that its forces “will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial “Caliphate,” will not longer be in the immediate area.”

Kurdish militias, which are the core of the US-backed Syrian Deocratic Forces, have just lost the US protection from a possible Turkish military action.

Last weekend, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country was not satisfied by the progress of the ‘safe zone’ agreement implementation and that Turkey was ready to launch a military operation in the area on its own. Ankara describes US-backed Kurdish militias as terrorist groups.

AM Hants

Remind me, but, isn’t President Assad the Leader of the sovereign nation? Russia is lending a hand and the US has no permission to be there. So why are you including President Putin in an article based on Turkish and US actions in Syria. Remembering, that neither nation has received the Syrian invite to invade or help themselves to Syrian territory.

Barba_Papa

Assad may be the official leader of the sovereign nation of Syria, but he who has to sell his soul no longer owns it. Iran and Russia did not help and shed blood in Syria for the international brotherhood of nations. Quid pro quo. Just like the countries of Western Europe that were liberated from the Nazi’s by the US have ended up as its vassals, so Assad now still sits in his palace in Damascus and he has to dance to the tunes coming out of Tehran and Moscow. Even worse because those tunes are sometimes not in tune or in dissonance with each other, so he has to walk a fine line between the two countries that keep him in power. Foreign military aid always comes with strings attached and there is no such thing as a free lunch in international politics. He who sells his soul no longer owns it.

AM Hants

BS.

As President Assad said, when thank Russia for their maturity, with the US having one of their standard hissy fits ‘you either have a country or you don’t’.

Not everything is ‘armchair gossip’ simple. You have to view the bigger picture and the least loss of life. Where would Syria have been if Russia had not answered their request to lend a hand? Remember, the state Syria was in back in September 2015?

zman

Strange how asking for and getting help is selling ones soul. As you said, where would they be if he hadn’t? I think they really believe that Putin is part of a bigger plan to divide Syria, and is going through the motions as a facade. The fact remains that Syria is absolutely necessary for the security of Russia and Iran. A sovereign and whole Syria is necessary for two reasons. A whole Syria is necessary for the security of the area, to deny the west of a staging area for continued instability. It also counters the influence of western political and economic power…control over oil supplies/supply routes.

אהרון

You’re far too emotional and apply far too many assumptions, AM.

Fact: Russia and The U.S. came to several, mutually beneficial, agreements in order for both powers to operate inside Syria. Oddly enough the same can be said for The U.S. and Iran operating in Iraq. The fact that you don’t like these arrangements, temporary as they may be, is not the issue.

You called the Donbass Defenders ‘terrorists’ so it would it be right to call the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto during WW2 ‘terrorists’ also, for defending themselves, according to YOUR logic, RIGHT?

Ralph London

http://thesaker.is/moveable-feast-cafe-2019-10-08/is open for your comments you made about the Donbass Defenders being ‘terrorists’.

Get your butt over there and repeat what you posted, boy, don’t be a coward.

You’re too stupid to want to know about PNAC, right, boy?

FlorianGeyer

Fact, Russia uses targetted regional strategies in Syria that have worked, and have ensured the current existence of Syria and Iran, in addition to the steady eviction of US backed terror gangs from Syria.

In turn, the independence of Syria and Iran halts the US Coalition of Terror advance into Russia and China.

The Judao US strategy abroad has always been a strategy of chaos, as such chaos ALWAYS benefits the US Military Industrial Complex and also the re-construction by US Construction Contractors after a country is ruined and controlled by the US after a war.

The price paid by the defeated nation, as always, are the US plunder of resources, IMF(US) bank loans on condition of austerity and the abject poverty of the average family in the US targetted countries.

It is in fact the Western ‘Democratic’ version of slavery.

I’m of the opinion that you’re the all-too-typical a anti Western Westerner who knows little of life outside the West.

AM Hants

Is that why the US is moving them all into Iraq? Why did Iraq change their defence minister? Who are not happy bunnies, with the progress of roads leading from Syria, to Iraq and Iran?

William Wallace

The troops will move from Syria to Iraq to watch Iran.

AM Hants

If they were just watching, it would not be a problem. When was the last time Iran invaded or attacked anybody, compared to the US?

FlorianGeyer

mmmm. Never, AM.

FlorianGeyer

Or to further further inflame tensions in Iraq by re-locating ISIS from camps in the SDF held areas to Iraq and blaming Erdogan for setting them free.

FlorianGeyer

The US us hopping mad about the road link to Syria from Iran as we know, AM.

Mission Accomplished. D Trump.

AM Hants

Do believe, with nothing to back it up, that is the main reason Trump is moving the Forces.

FlorianGeyer

It’s times like these when 800+ military bases around the globe become a burden. Especially when the President of the US is preparing to counter a Libtard coup and calling up Marine Reserves.

Trumps historical knowledge is sparse though, and just a look at the events of Bloody Sunday during the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland would suggest that the use of the UK Paras, whose lack of empathy with all living things in a Civil Uprising in their homeland is not a recipe for long term harmony.

The UK Paras and the US Marines, for all their bravery and toughness are a bad choice for internal security operations, in my opinion. They are trained to kill trained soldiers and obey orders without question. The British Royal Marines are different to the Paras. The Royal Marines are more often intelligent, and thier officers also. Thay are tough with morals.

Troops with empathy and the ability to react in ways that do not further alienate an already frightened civil population.

Kicking in the doors of a whole street and ransacking the houses in a search operation are NOT the way to operate in any society. Civilised or not.

AM Hants

The UK Paras and the US Marines, for all their bravery and toughness are a bad choice for internal security operations, in my opinion. They are trained to kill trained soldiers and obey orders without question.

…………….

Wasn’t that the problem with Bloody Sunday, they sent in the wrong forces? Was it done on purpose, but, that is for another debate and not one I would want to get stuck into.

FlorianGeyer

Generally, there is always a clamour by battalion commanders to proffer their soldiers for a military combat task. The high profile units tend to speak the loudest.

Hence the Guards were sent to the Falklands and when the navy ‘parked the transport in the wrong place to disembark and said the troops must walk to the correct location. A Guards major then said ‘We are the Guards and we do not walk’ ,or words like that anyway.

The result being a lot of dead and wounded when an Argentine aircraft bombed the ship. In the military the guards are affectionately known as ‘The Wooden Tops’. :)

AM Hants

A good friend of mine, her partner was on the ship, if it was the one begining with a C? He still has nightmares from that period. All because some Major and I wonder if he survived, refused to walk.

FlorianGeyer

Ship with a G , where many had horrific burns.

” The commander did not tell him what to do with the Welsh Guards, and the captain did not tell the Welsh Guards the ship was not going to Bluff Cove.

The change in destination did not become apparent until Sir Galahad arrived off Fitzroy at 0650 the following morning: “Nobody is going to Bluff Cove,” said Royal Marine Major Ewen Southby-Tailyour, “unless they walk.” The Welsh Guards were to disembark at Fitzroy and march the 5 miles overland to Bluff Cove. The majors commanding the two Guards companies refused. Southby-Tailyour, senior in rank to both officers, gave them a direct order to disembark. They still refused.”

https://submarinersworld.blogspot.com/2012/06/falklands-war-bluff-cove-disaster.html

AM Hants

I remember Simon Weston, when he arrived back to the UK, and amazing he made it. Let alone, to move forward in the way that he has done.

I found you link interesting, for a variety of reasons. mainly back in those days, the Forces were seriously tribal, so the thought of the Navy and Army working together, on the Sir Galagher, and what happened, comes as no surprise. Plus, the political decisions, not, tactical decisions of those in charge. It is a wonder we won, considering everything.

I remember, when it all kicked off and the QEII and Canberra, were sent as hospital ships. Back in the days, when you had Military Hospitals, working at full capacity and the NHS on standby. I remember the first gulf war, and the hospital I was working in, we had to sign an agreement that we would be ready if needed, for military backup, should the Forces need extra medical assistance. Again, you had the military hospitals working to full capacity, before they closed most of them.

Thanks for the link.

AM Hants

Just seen this and off topic, but, found it well worth reading.

Update on MH17 Case – Eric Zeusse… OCTOBER 7, 2019 U.S. President Barack Obama had become desperate for something to happen that would persuade German Chancellor Angela Merkel to endorse added sanctions against Russia regarding Ukraine, but I had had no idea, until now, as to what direct involvement, if any, he had had in the actual setting-up of the MH17 shoot-down… https://theduran.com/update-on-the-mh17-case/

FlorianGeyer

Wow.

It is realistic to say that in Chicago, where have Khazars dominated the political administration, unions and general commerce for generations, that Khazars look down on ‘people of colour’.

It is therefore a question of ‘how did Obama rise to prominence there without the direct assistance of the Khazars’. It is my opinion that Obama was a willing tool and that his skin colour camouflaged the Khazar puppet masters in the shadows.

As for the Western ‘evidence’ of MH17, the red flags ( pardon the pun) for me at the time were the parroting of the Western media, and the usual indicator of a false flag that is the immediate ‘identification’ of the bad guys, even before the bodies of the Sacrifice to US democracy were cold.

Lies and false flags have always been major tools if the most venal elites for millennia, and the few who question the lies are demonised, tortured or murdered.

The problem for such elites has always been control of the ‘media’ and as media has evolved the problem for the elite has increased. Today, the internet has enabled the ‘few’ to become a global critical mass that is questioning the ‘official elites false narratives’.

It is a mass that is exponentially growing, that is in effect, a continual fusillade of silver bullets from all over the globe into the putrefying bodies of those who seek the total dominance of ‘The chosen few’.

AM Hants

Do believe Washington DC, is in the middle of gangster warfare. Nice to see how the legacy of Obama, the Chicago Neighbourhood Officer, is opening out.

The ‘Hilary’s America’ film, that I have been mentioning in the last week, was talking about Obama, and how he talked about the plantation, and I do believe he referenced Chicago. Where the ghettoes of the day, were based on the old style plantation. The Dems would happily provide ghettoe housing, just so long as you voted for them and making certain that you could never move out. It was an interesting film, and although focusing on the Dems, no doubt the same for any of today’s political parties, many nations.

FlorianGeyer

Control of the populace is even more important for the elite in a ‘democracy’, I think AM, as votes for the elite cement the sham of equal opportunity.

AM Hants

Do you remember when Prince Andrew could do no wrong? In the days we believed the spin. Funny, how Prince Harry, seems to be following in the footsteps of his Uncle.

I was told by an RN Officer, who served in the Navy when both Andrew and Charles served in the Navy. He had so much respect for Charles, who just got on with the job at hand, expecting no perks. Andrew, was well known for being one of the biggest idiots, with a massive ego, to serve at the time. He would use the ‘Don’t you know who I am’ ticket. Plus, if they were visitng a nation, PA would insist in getting off the ship, wearing something eye catching, that would attract the attention of the media, trying to seek him out. They eventually managed to get him off a ship with ease, by making him dress so he would just look like your average matlow, which worked. Guess his peers had no respect for him.

FlorianGeyer

I have always found leading with the same standards I expect of those I have sought to lead has been a driver of self discipline for all concerned.

There are always some ‘bad apples’, but they inevitably find a new ‘barrel ‘ elsewhere.

I recall a silly incident at the now demolished ,Guards training depot at Pirbright. A young Guards officer was doing his rounds as Orderly Officer and visited the cookhouse. He admonished a few noisy soldiers there.

On his return to the mess, he and another guards officer proceeded to have a ‘horse race’ mounted on small stuffed horse toys and jumping over the furniture :)

I stayed there on a few occasions and the mess carpark entrance was via a long corridor lined with rather splendid military prints.

I never saw any security at that entrance. It was well in the confines of the camp though, yet there was always a steward at the front entrance.

I was the same at many military camps. Stringent security at the ‘front door’ and little or nothing at the ‘back door’. Via married quarters or ranges etc.

AM Hants

So true, with regards keeping everything open at the ‘back door’. Could go into further detail, but, keeping lips zipped, for a change.

אהרון

Many nations, yes.

Do believe in a city of almost 12 million people Moscow hosts a tiny (10,000) black African population. Those numbers wouldn’t fill the average sports stadium. Funnily enough, in all of Russian history only one black man has ever been elected to public office. Those are staggering statistics in 2019.

By the way: I’m interested to know if you’ve uncovered anything new in your theory of Hitler’s secret Jewish heritage and/or Mark Zuckerberg’s missing Grandfather.

intp1

Bizarre contradictory behavior from the US which my not last and/or could be a trap and/or lead to more violence but also surely a huge opportunity. If the Russians can force the Turks, Kurds and Syrian Govt to make a deal, securing the safe zone, Kurdish autonomy of some sort, and agree how to monitor it. Big If but would save a lot of conflict, lives and head off the cries for a return to military intervention.

BlueHeadLizard

SAA need to move in fast (possession is 9/10’s of the law) to dominate subsequent discussions with Kurds. But not sure they have the capacity to do, either logistically or manpower, after 5 years of exhausting war.

alejandro casalegno

The only kurdish option…………..be part of Syria, with yhe syrian people …….or be a “Jihadistan” with Erdogan…………your choice!!!!!!!!!!!!! PD. Trusth the USA????…………you were so foul!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zionism = EVIL

100% agree, the Kurds are morons who did not understand the backstabbing cowardly nature of the Americunts who have done this to all their “allies” and pulled the rug. The Kurds only hope is to ally with SAA and Iranians, who have a large well integrated Kurdish population. Only operating within the Syrian state will work for the Kurds.

Icarus Tanović

That’s right, mate, you said all I had in mind. The only choice for SDF is to reintegrate, to ally with SAA, that’s only way out for them.

Zionism = EVIL

That is the only solution that will work. The Kurds will never have any country of their own. They are dumbasses who fail to read history or pay attention to geography. If I was them, I would be asking the SAA for unlimited supply of Kornets for a Turkey shoot. The Turkeys are like Saudis of the north and as inept and cowardly.

Icarus Tanović

That’s right my man, they are Saudis of the north, preserving evil faith in Syria known as Wahhabism. They are traitors and cowards that working against Islam, entire humanity. Against common sense and raison.

FlorianGeyer

The Kurds would have to be part of the SAA to ensure their loyalty first.

Ace

The Turks were excellent in Korea, probably even too aggressive. I don’t see them as being in the same category as the Saudis (and their mercenary troops).

Iranian Falcon

Kurds time to times asked for SAA and Assad and Russia to be in their side only if they recognise their identity, what was assad response? Denial. And now you accuse kurds to be against Syria??!!! How little bigot minded you are.

Ace

It was madness for the Kurds to think that their support from the US was something they could rely on. At best, anyone on the ground anywhere in Syria HAS to realize that the US is confused and can’t make up its mind whom to support and why. If the Kurds expected anything but a temporary advantage from allying with the US that was extrememly unwise.

χρηστος

to late now. the will be extinct by the Turks. FIrst they will establish theri presence in the North and then ,now that they know that noone (US or RUssia) can stop them they will cross the river and hunt them down all the way to Iraq

Ashok Varma

You are right, the Turks are hell bent on invading and annexing a large part of Syria and Russia has also failed to dissuade Erdogan.

Zionism = EVIL

Well, the Turkeys are main conduit for Wahhabi headchopper terrorism in Syria and Iraq. If Iran and Hezbollah along with Shia diaspora militias had not supported Syria as early as 2012, the fat ugly Wahhabi pig MBS and the mad dog ErDOGan would be sitting in Damascus with the headchopper gutter trash with gloating Zionists. The only way to convince the moron Erdogan is inflict maximum losses on the Turkeys as the brave Ansarallah are doing to the Saudi scum. The Turkeys antiquated M-60 are very vulnerable to even RPGs let alone Kornets of other ATGMS. Even the Americunts would like the Turkeys to be cut down to size.

Icarus Tanović

He ain’t mad dog, he’s a bitch dog.

FlorianGeyer

Most bitches are also mad, Icarus. :)

Icarus Tanović

A plain bitch, buddy.

Lupus

The Turks will send in their jihad scum puppets in first to do the dirty jobs while bombing from air and miles away. So the Turk casualties will be limited.

Rafik Chauhan

let the turk attack this kurds and take the territory. Turks will take all jihadist out of Syria and send them to east Syria. and SAA can take all Idlib. and then SAA and allies will move towards dierzor and start attacking this same jihadist bcuz they are terriost and will remain terriost. SAA will be Having Advantage of that and turkey cant stop Russia and SAA to attack this Wabhi scum. So at the end All of Syria will be back in SAA hands.

grumpy_carpenter

I’m not convinced the Turks want to occupy Syria. I believe that it would cost them more than it’s worth. I can’t read Erdogan’s mind but the Turks have no friends or support in Syria. The Kurds hate the, the Syrians hate them and the Americans will never let them near US controlled oil fields …. they would be bled white with very little to show for it. I think the upcoming Turkish action will be a security action along the border to rid the region of SDF forces and nothing more. The fight to regain Eastern Syria is between Assad and the USA. I think before long the situation in Iraq and the greater middle east will make the USA’s stay in Syria untenable and they’ll hand it over to ‘rebels’ who they will throw under the bus and leave to the SAA to deal with.

Lupus

Jihad scum will occupy the Syrian lands for them after ethnic cleansing

Icarus Tanović

They can try. I’m not very convinced in success.

Lupus

Just like they did in Afrin.

Icarus Tanović

Afrin is very fragile. Wait some time and you’ll see when mascarade is over.

Redadmiral

They will most probably hand it over to their jihadi buddies but in such a way that they won’t be held accountable. Because these guys will have become ‘moderate rebels’ They will also hand over huge amounts of military equipment as well as comprehensive training and tactical know how along with a few dozen ISIS commanders to help lead the fight against the SAA. Yanki War Hogs always want to extract a price especially when they have been out thought, out-outmaneuvered and thrown-out from where they were never wanted……

Terence Silvestre Jr.

Why Assad and Russia should accept and even help the Kurds after they sold their dignity and patriotism betraying Syria, the nation that gave them shelter and protection from generation to generation, allying themselves with the greatest and closest enemies of his own president Assad and Russia ally, and even daring to shoot and sink ships full of fuels and aids from Iran to Syria, to help their americans procurers harden their unfair embargo against the Syrian nation people that needs oil and goods for its basic needs? And all that after countless failed attempts by the Syrian government with the intervention and intermediation of its Russian ally to negotiate with the ungrateful and treacherous Kurds to give up and become part of their country again. For all that I fear not agreeing with you this time my friend, Because I believe that Karma exists and the Kurds are only reaping with the damn Americans what they themselves sowed with their Syrian adopted homeland long ago.

alejandro casalegno

With the kurds, Assad can do a deal. with Erdogan and the jihadists…..not!!!!

Terence Silvestre Jr.

To my regret I have to give you all the right accepting that you are totally correct my friend in your reasoning. Because as one wise man once said, of two evils, always the least worse will always be the best. Although any agreement of any kind, between two parties, is mutually beneficial and durable as how reliable each of the two parties can be in their commitments. And hence the question of the century, being so. How reliable can the Kurds be? But after all, of two evils, the less bad will always be the better option, yes, always my friend.

Iranian Falcon

Kurds had no choice they just accepted weapons from US didnt ally, this was while Assads wanted to clear Kurdish people on earth and Russians backstabbed kurds, Kurds had/have no allies but accuse them of israel plan while israel never ever supported kurds actually but in here all sides only play with the name Kurds for their own benefits. Thats why i dont believe in god anymore just by looking at Kurds or Armenians or etc, kurds never had anyone and by their bad chance iranian people are not in power but some shia arabs,to help their other iranian kins.

Zionism = EVIL

As I had posted a while ago, this was quite expected as the Americunts were 100% likely to sell-out the Kurd turds for their NATO vassal Turkeys. The Kurds have only themselves to blame for trying to carve up an untenable state in Eastern Euphrates on Syrian soil. The only way the Kurds can survive is to fall under the SAA umbrella and fight the Turkeys who are illegally annexing Syrian lands. This also gives Russia and Iran to bring the different Kurdish armed factions into the Axis of Resistance and fight the Turkeys. It will be interesting to see if the Salafist pig Erdogan orders the inept Turkey military into a major combat operation in Syria. In any case the Americunts have sold the Kurds out and will wait on the sidelines to see how many Turkeys are killed or if the Kurds and SAA cooperate. Interesting times ahead.

dutchnational

One can be for or against SDF. It is a question of preferences and political view. Nobody can deny that Assad abondoned the region in 2012, for whatever reason.

Nobody can deny SDF fought bravely against IS, at a time SAA had other priorities and Turkey was actively aiding IS.

Nobody can deny that US is acting now like cowards, throwing their allies to the wolves.

They do this knowing what atrocities Turks and their mercenaries are committing in Afrin and knowing, from their long presence there, that is was ever Turks being agressors against kurds and allies, not the other way around.

It will be a hard fight and kurds will lose the open fight along the border. We will see what happens afterwards.

The future for Syria is becoming bleaker. One of the few lights there is in danger of being blotted out.

My prayers will be with and for SDF and those about to have their region, lives destroyed. May god punish Erdogan and his damned country with a blight.

RichardD

Hey idiot. The evil Zionist forever war miscreants that you shill for spent $100 BILLION on the failed regime change terror war that you’ve been cheer leading for years. Against the Syrian $1.9 billion defense budget. And your blood sucking pedophile baby raping buddies lost.

Ashok Varma

But Syria is partitioned and Turkey will annex a region ten times the size of occupied Golan Heights.

nah it won’t happen as you will see – it’s just wishful thinking on your part, babytroll from tel aviv or some such high density squatter place.

Turkey is no friend of Syria, BUT, It is 999 times more easier to negotiate a deal with Turkey than the Americunts.

“Nobody can deny that US is acting now like cowards, throwing their allies to the wolves.”(c) Dutchy, no one can deny that many people here told you that this is exactly what’s going to happen. RIP dear Kurds. You stood up against your government as US urged you to do, you stole the oil rich areas that have almost 99,99% Arab population and occupied Arab areas as well. All these because your trusted ally ordered you in exchange for a Kurdish state. Unfortunatelly what you win in the batllefield you lose in the negotiation table were you are either abscent or your worthless politicians just bargain for their own profit.

Ashok Varma

The American people have paid a heavy price for endless inter-Arab wars and now Trump is wisely ending US involvement as American does not need Arab oil anymore. This is the end of Saudi and other petro-regimes in the region.

you confused me…..what does Saudi Arabia has to do with SYria?Iran is deeply involved in SYria and they are no friends with S.A. same goes with Russia. S.A. is the main ally in the Arab world.

Ashok Varma

Saudi Arabia is the main sponsor of Wahhabi brand of terrorism, Iran is fighting the Saudi Salafists in Syria and the region. US is no longer interested as the cost has been too high.

χρηστος

its not the cost…they just lost the battle to take over Syria. Russia won..so they are going home now

Zionism = EVIL

Well, the Americunt dumbasses got involved in these endless losing wars, thanks to the Jew parasites who are the most devious scum on the planet for the delusional Yinon plan, which has backfired in spades. The deadbeat Americunt economy is bankrupt with $24 TRILLION debt and millions homeless and hopeless, dying for the stupid Turkeys is the last thing that even the redneck brainwashed morons need. The orange fatass geezer maybe right on this one, but the Jew scum will never allow the dumbass Americunts to withdraw from the region.

It’s time for the US to “get out of ridiculous endless wars,” President Donald Trump said ahead of a withdrawal of US troops from border areas in northeastern Syrian as the Turkish military prepares for an anti-Kurdish incursion.

FlorianGeyer

The American People should be forced to pay reparations for all the destruction and misery their governments have caused around the globe this century.

The annual cost of this should be the transfer of US tax dollars to the damaged nations , from the US tax dollars donated to the vile state of Israel.

dontlietome

Florian, there are a lot of stupid yanks out there, but they are that way because they are prisoners of an occupied country. They are mercilessly indoctrinated via the ZOG and its 24/7 propaganda MSM. reparations, to everyone from north Korea to Vietnam, cambodia and Laos, to Nicaragua and Honduras, Iraq, Afghanistan, poor Yemen and Syria, etc etc would into the tens of trillions….. at least. and all the rich and super-rich in all the Western countries especially (but not exclusively), should be subjected to a very hefty reparations tax which would tax all their earnings and profit from the military-industrial complex and armaments sales etc etc

I’m all for it!

Trump, wise ?????????????????? Really. Ashok, he’s putting on a show, the proof of the pudding is in the eating…………………lets wait a while and not hold our breath.

Trump: Time for US to end the endless tribal wars

It’s time for the US to “get out of ridiculous endless wars”, President Donald Trump said on his decision to pull US troops deployed in northeastern Syria back from an imminent anti-Kurdish incursion of the Turkish military.

“The United States was supposed to be in Syria for 30 days, that was many years ago. We stayed and got deeper and deeper into battle with no aim in sight,” Trump said in a Twitter thread on Monday just as US troops stationed in north eastern Syria were reportedly pulling back from their positions.

….almost 3 years, but it is time for us to get out of these ridiculous Endless Wars, many of them tribal, and bring our soldiers home. WE WILL FIGHT WHERE IT IS TO OUR BENEFIT, AND ONLY FIGHT TO WIN. Turkey, Europe, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia and the Kurds will now have to take care of the region…..

mhtsaropinigitakis

chill out kids…nobody is pulling out…USA is actually reinforcing its troops in the area…Dont you know when a super power says “i pull out” it means “i am reinforcing”? Russia did the same thing a year ago.. i think it is a plan to trap turkey into a bottomless pit of mud and teach her not to mess with the devil (Usa)

hope you are right

Ashok Varma

US only has a thousand troops in Syria and I would be surprised if Trump commits more.

Barba_Papa

Trump has shown himself to be a leader who likes to rattle chains, but with little appetite to actually start another war, as he knows his voter base has no appetite for one either. He seems to like economic sanctions a hell of a lot more.

BZ

Trump has had to give up a lot of his foreign policy to the military industrial complex..interested primarily in domestic policy. He has the CIA completely against him perhaps partly since he ended their covert financing of arms to the Syrian rebels in July of 2017 and his position on the Mexican border (CIA heavily involved in drug trafficking ). He is really walking a very tight line between getting impeached ..just sticking around to try and avoid another war he is getting pushed into.

Johan

In the cold war in Europe the story went: when a Russians catch a fish he takes a knive and without a word cut its head, an American take the fish in his arms tell him how much he loves him and strokes him until he dies. Nothing changed Americans are pity less, cruel selfish hollow slogans and cheater who deliver anybody to hollow totalitarian non-ethical, imoral butchers like Erdogan and his jihadist gangs to commit together with Trump the next genocide.

World_Eye

WTF so now the Ottomans will occupy the Northern Syria, well now Kurds is time for you to coordinate for once with Damascus and preserve that area for you as a part of Syria’s integrity or you will need to face bloody war with the Ottoman Erdogan, in which many will die, of course booth sides. Do whatever you can do, GOOD the US terrorist are leaving/left drained the oil fields with years there on the east bank of the euphates. Now Damascus and kurds should start work together. Stupid Kurds, what did you expected, the time came and you are no longer available proxy source and you will be thrown as a marshmallow on rock.

Garga

Kurd leaders have neither a will of their own nor the ability to do something sane and good for once. They will obey whatever order their masters bark at them. They have been like that throughout the history.

They raced and occupied eastern part of Syria, oil and gas fields and Arab lands while SAA had a far more important goal at the time, establishing a land connection to Iraq and Iran while ISIS simply gave their positions to SDF in order to gather their forces and halt SAA’s advances so SDF could capture BuKamal-Qaim corridor. If they succeeded, SDF would control 2 land connections to Iraq as a US proxy and US itself controlled the 3rd.

That move had the goal of postponing a unified Syria and this recent move, falling back silently at the order of Americans also has the same goal.

Now SAA will free Idlib but the infestation in Idlib will be moved to the long strip of land between Syria and Turkey, with a lot wider border, less depth and easier logistics to keep the pests alive.

Icarus Tanović

Erdogan, dog will get his snout busted this time. This time idiot played his own self. Wahhabi protector and above all an utter coward.

Romeo Pesiao

And so… did Mark Esper do the same way, Mattis done..??

RichardD

It probably won’t take the Kurd traitors long to negotiate with the Syrian government on the restoration of Syrian government administration in NE Syria.

Garga

And as soon as Americans give them another empty promise with a few truckload of weapons they’ll abandon the negotiating table while sputtering bold and rude statements. The same thing they did continuously in the past years.

RichardD

Have you looked at a map? The Kurdish majority areas are all on the border.

Garga

No $#it?

Before the war, Kurds in Syria were majority only in 2 small area. Around Afrin and the tip of Hasaka, the triangle between Syria, Iraq and Turkey. What does it have to do with what I wrote?

RichardD

The last time that the US announced a pull out and the Turks invaded the Kurd traitors ran to Damascus for protection. What makes you think that it will be any different this time?

Garga

What relation does it have with map and what I said?

If it’s an stand alone question, the answer is: I know it won’t be different, don’t try to put word in my mouth. Since 2 nights ago Kurds made anybody who is somebody in Syria mad with their hundreds of calls. Their problem is even with this awful position they are in, they still insist on having autonomy and keeping the arms, they do not realize it’s either living free under government or losing the area to Turkey backed terrorists. Afrin didn’t teach them anything. But if today Trump made an speech and said good things about them, they would immediately bite the government’s and SAA’s hand.

RichardD

The majority Kurd areas are on the border in the proposed 20 to 30 mile buffer zone. Once the Turks invade and start placing those areas under Turkish administration. The Kurds will have it worse than if they stop resisting the restoration of Syrian government administration in NE Syria. All of the areas south of the buffer zone have non Kurd majorities that are much less enamored with being placed under Mossad administration than the Kurds are who clamor for it.

Your original comment that the Turkish invasion will have no effect is contradicted by this comment where you start talking out of both sides of your mouth admitting that my analysis is correct that the Kurds will run to Damascus.

It’s a waste of time trying to conduct a rational debate with an irrational person like you talking out of both sides of your mouth just like Trump.

Garga

Here’s what I do: 1- I challenge you to show where in my original comment (or any other comment for that matter) I said Turkish invasion has no effect.

2- For crying out-loud, what is the relation between all this and anything I wrote in my first reply to you?

Notice nowhere I said you are wrong. Heck, if you paid any attention, I up-voted your first comment which perhaps means “I agree with you and I liked what you wrote”. oo-oo-oohh, you were right! A celeb-ray-tion is in or-der…

RichardD

“It probably won’t take the Kurd traitors long to negotiate with the Syrian government on the restoration of Syrian government administration in NE Syria.”

“as soon as Americans give them another empty promise with a few truckload of weapons they’ll abandon the negotiating table while sputtering bold and rude statements.”

Garga

In Which universe it specifically means “Turkish invasion has no effect”, like you claimed I said?

I understand that you enjoy bickering for naught, but come on, really?

RichardD

When they get a few truck loads of weapons and empty promises which aren’t going to stop the invasion they’ll abandon the negotiating table because the Turkish invasion has no effect. That universe. It’s called talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Garga

Did you just invent whatever words you wanted in the middle of my sentence? What are you, 8?

RichardD

That’s a dodge playing word games. You’re clearly stating that the Turkish invasion will have no effect if the US provides paltry weapons shipments and empty promises that won’t stop the Turkish invasion but according to you it will cause the Kurds not to run to Damascus for help.

You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth making contradictory statements saying that the Turkish invasion will have no effect if the US throws the Kurds a meaningless bone that won’t help them deal with the invasion effectively. As compared to airstrikes which would. And then agreeing with me that the Turkish invasion will cause the Kurds to run to Damascus.

Garga

You are a vile and shameless liar RicharD, therefore you are being ignored henceforth.

RichardD

If you really believe that, which I seriously doubt, than prove it. Cut and paste where you claim that I’ve lied. And then prove where it’s a lie. You can’t, so you won’t even try. Unless you want to make a bigger fool out of yourself than you already have.

You were wrong about Jews raping Iranian children, you were wrong about China not providing strategic plan economic support to Iran, you were wrong about the Turkish invasion being ineffective in forcing the Kurds to seek help from Damascus if the US throws them an ineffectual bone, and you’re false accusations about me lying are obvious bullsh–.

You’re a real loser claiming to be an Iranian who is parroting pro Israel hasbara nonsense.

Jakke1899

Greetings, Garga,

Is Richard out on crusade again? Don’t let him get under your skin… As a sign of support to you, i will copy paste a comment i made to you about 8 months ago.

Sincere regards.

Jakke1899 Garga 8 months ago “To readers and friends: I’m sorry I don’t like to be harsh, but there are times that it’s needed, like when somebody spreads lies knowingly.”

No need to worry about your hardly noticeable “harsh” tone! I’d like to thank you for keeping your composure, when (often American!) “contributors” to the forum attack you personally! That’s why i follow the comments you post on Southfront. I have already learned a fair amount from the Persian and/or Iranian side of the spectrum in geopolitics from just reading your comments (i am convinced there are many more people who would concur with me on this matter). Hope you keep up the good work! Don’t fear the armies of the Egyptian farao @RichardD! ;-) I would like to end with a quote from the wise man Socrates from ancient Greece, who proves your right!

“It is possible to find answers to the most important questions and get knowledge only during a polite conversation.”

Sincere regards.

Garga

Hello and thank you very much, it was very heartwarming. @RicharD was being, well, RicharD! The usual stuff, this time I had enough and used the block option, so I won’t be bothered anymore. by this blocked account at least; But I doubt if this stops him from being his usual fun self…

Based on what you wrote I guess you also have a working block list? ;)

Jakke1899

Greetings,

Only seldom do i use the block-option, only for those where only feces come out of their mouth and for poor Jens Holm… Why, you might wonder? In all modesty, i can say my English is quite good for a non-native speaker, but what Jens pours out is decipherable! Their is simply nothing to make of his comments… As to concerning RichardD, i would not block him. For the simple fact that i would miss out on the daily jousting games he has with Zionism=EVIL. Now we have here 2 adult (i presume!) men, telling quasi the same exact opinions, yet if you would put them in a single room, they would probably stab each other to death!!! How about that for saterdaynight entertaiment! I am therefore in favor of total freedom of speech, especially on this forum. To quote Voltaire: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” Or the variation by Oscar Wilde (which is more fitting in this case): “I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an ass of yourself.”

Regards

But what about the historic Kurdish homelands of the Omar oil fields? What would Greta say??

Jay Lindberg

With the deep state attempting to sell out Trump, he is finally following his own instincts in the Middle East. Its too bad he didn’t do this earlier. I wouldn’t be surprised if his next move was an honest climate policy.

Joe Kerr

For “an honest climate policy”, try this: http://www.wrongkindofgreen.org/2019/02/03/the-manufacturing-of-greta-thunberg-for-consent-the-house-is-on-fire-the-90-trillion-dollar-rescue/

King Cliff

The Kurds are bought longtime ago by the CIA,once Erdogan get what he want he will seek to expand further into the syrian Kurds territory. They Kurds leader who sold they people for wealth should get on board a plane and head to Washington, they just doom themselves.

Jacob Wohl's Nose

dont worry, Jacob Wohl’s Nose will protect the kurds from Turkey.

verner

rest assured that putin is working along a carefully planned long term projection which doesn’t allow a lot of leeway for the various players so they will have to fall in line at some time and fall in line they will when the time comes and putin tells them that the time is now. it includes turkey mostly since lebanon or iraq ain’t gonna try for landgains and the kurds will realize that russia is a better party than the washington morons, who is in a very tenuous position which the cnts cant hold on to.

BlueHeadLizard

Yea, interesting to get more info on Syria and Russia reaction on the USA announcement to withdraw. I suspect they are waiting to see what happens on the ground as could just be another Trump tweet with no action, as the USA state ignores it. Trump does not have much power outside his Washington Villa and helicopter, so there can be a big gap between what he says and what happens.

You can call me Al

So exactly, where are they withdrawing too ?.

FlorianGeyer

A ‘Safe Place’ Al. There will be cuddly animals and even children for the US military types to console their angst with :)

dontlietome

………depends if their names end with “berg”, “stein”, cohn, cohen…………or any slavic variations…………….you get my drift.

FlorianGeyer

I certainly do. :)

Lupus

Not outta Syria thats for sure

zman

There you go asking those pesky questions. I would imagine they are headed south with their Kurdish puppets to reinforce the oil producing region. Trump said nothing at all about actually leaving. Anyway, this looks like the plan all along. Haven’t they been after the northern tier of Syria from the git go?

Ace

That “actually leaving” point is the main one. Now there’s just a lot of commotion about a minor withdrawal. When al Tanf is vacated then I will think there’s a change in US policy.

Loki

Americans sold Cyprus too back in 1974. Resulting to the Turkish invasion of the island. The war ended with more than 2000 dead Greek people. Greece was an ally in WW2 and you guys betrayed us.

Mustafa Mehmet

What about 2006 dead tc. oooo no never happened. ww2 British and Yankees saved your arse.from Germany and Italy don’t be ungrateful. now

chris chuba

The safe zone idea never sounded realistic because elves were supposed to police it. Trump didn’t want U.S. troops stuck there so he kept asking Germany and France to send them, yeah, good luck w/that.

Jacob Wohl's Nose

lol so many pro-jihadi/pro-kurd zionists, neocons, neoliberals going CRAZY on twitter. ultimate rage fest

Hanny Benny

AMERICUNTS !!!!!!

Mike

Stupid Kurds, they should have know better on their history of being back stabbed by the U.S. when not needed. They should also have known how fake the drama or so called rupture the U.S. has with Turkey, clearest evidence of this fakery is the fact that U.S. personnel are still stationed in Incirlik. The Kurds are pathetic whores.

Xoli Xoli

No wonder Turkey s terrorists are retreating to Turkey border from Idlib.
