The US-backed Venezuelan opposition, led by self-proclaimed Interim President of Venezuela Juan Guaido, is now openly requesting a US military help to overthrow the legal government of the country.

In a letter dated May 11, addressed to US Southern Command chief Navy Admiral Craig Faller and shared May 13 to Twitter by Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Guaido’s “US envoy” Carlos Vecchio said the opposition “welcomes the support of the United States and confirms our government’s willingness to begin discussions regarding the cooperation that has been offered.”

The letter said the situation had “national security consequences for Venezuela and among her neighbors” noting the “equal concern” for “the impact of the presence of uninvited foreign forces that place and our country and others at risk”.

Referring to the “uninvited foreign forces”, the letter likely noted Maduro’s global allies, such as China, Cuba and Russia. The US has repeatedly accused these three states of playing a key role in the ability of the Maduro government to resist to the US regime-change effort.

“We welcome strategic and operational planning so that we may fulfill our constitutional obligation to the Venezuelan people in order to alleviate their suffering and restore our democracy,” the letter said.

The letter appeared online after a recent failed attempt of the US-backed opposition to seize power in Venezuela by force on its own. Now, it seeks to do this with a US military support.

Who are you going to hire as mercs? The houthis called all the columbians last year.

Guaido your days are numbered, pray that the government catches you and not the people or.your allies.

Promitheas Apollonious

“The houthis called all the columbians last year.“

What you mean to say mike?

Concrete Mike

whoops.damn big thumbs. Thank you sir.

Empire's Frontiers

Had you meant to write ‘culled’?

Or did ‘killed all’ autocorrect to ‘called’

Only curious.

FlorianGeyer

It was Alexa taking the piss:)

Concrete Mike

Im not sure anymore. Sometimes it gets confused with french and english, sometimes its the machine sometimes its me.

But culled would have worked there as well.

FlorianGeyer

A private source has told me that John Bolton has informed Trump not to worry, as unemployed ISIS mercs are now being kitted out with Summer uniforms for warfare in Venezuela by the US. :)

Concrete Mike

hope they got bug spray too :)

FlorianGeyer

The White Helmets will be there to administer chemical sprays etc, Mike. They are training in bug ridden parts of Canada as we speak.

Concrete Mike

Ahh thats the boys playing in the effluent swamp at the local sewage treatment plant, of course!!! hahahahaha

goingbrokes

Bug spray? Help – Chemical Weapons! Cruise missile strike immediately!

occupybacon

Brazil, if they want to join NATO and later EU since Merkel&Mogherini need ‘fresh blood’.

Chris Saunders

They are killing all the Sudanese too . .

The more valid question is, what kind of treacherous low lives want the destruction of their own supposed country? Guaido’s sedition in any country would land him in jail and then an execution. In the US police state he would have been long assassinated by the FBI and CIA or would have had an “accident”. The legitimate government of Venezuela needs to arrest this traitor, try him and execute him pronto.

Concrete Mike

Thats its, who would possibly think that inviting usa to bomb your home is a good idea for your people, its not its for selfish gains only.

Any idiot that denies that just has to look at Libya.

skinner15

Can any opposition call for military aid?

I’d like to be interim president for a while, and so I call on the US to kill the usurpers for me, then when no one is left, I’ll be rich. I promise that Monsanto can keep the bodies for tests, and I’ll recommend Fat Mike for president when he loses 20 stone.

Barba_Papa

Can any opposition call for military aid?

Apparently you can. If the Empire is desperate enough to overthrow your government that is.

Concrete Mike

Id rather have Mike Tyson as prez of usa.

goingbrokes

Lol. That is a great question!

iosongasingsing

The Payaso Guaidò is a foreign agent, if I’m not mistaken during World War II the Americans put all the Japanese in the concentration camps with this accusation.

Wegan

I guess, this is ground for arrest and trial for treason.

BMWA1

But Tommy J. says that is against all international rules!

Xoli Xoli

No he must get a Indian black dit between the eyes and its game over.

Real Anti-Racist Action

Venezuela is vulnerable as it has no potent air defense. If Russia wishes to keep this ally, S-400’s would need to be in order.

Empire's Frontiers

Russia probably wants to see the Americans manhandle the Venezuelans and deplete even more resource and credibility. This time in their own hemisphere.

‘Don’t fight the fool, evade his swings and he’ll tire out’

Hopefully Maduro’s jet is pointed in the right direction as it waits.

occupybacon

Yeah, the bus driver would love to test drive one around the city.

Chavez bought a couple of S-300VM systems in 2010 – Venezuela has had them since 2013, I think. Chavez was worried about a US air attack from Colombia at the time. They have had those along with BUK-M2s and some older S-125s, but probably haven’t spent a lot of time, energy or money on training or maintenance – until recently. About the only thing missing is a modern point-defense system like a Pantsir for glide bombs and drones.

The S-300VMs are apparently enough of a threat that the US made an effort to fry them with some kind of EW weapon. My guess anyway, FWIW – they did the same thing in Syria. In Venezuela, that EW was carried out in conjunction with the Guri Dam cyberattack. Both sides strangely tried to tie the reports of damaged S-300s to the power outage, but that’s ridiculous. You don’t plug a tracked, mobile sector radar or a missile launcher into a wall socket for power. I’m sure the Russian techs that showed up knew exactly what happened, repaired them and added the necessary protection – just like they did in Syria.

Xoli Xoli

Both to you and Empire thanks for good observation. Truly S-300 are USA and Israel practicing tools.Russian allies always get outdate useless rubbish.Erdogan harbours alqaida terrorists in Sovereign Syrian soil Idlib but Putin sell S-400 to please him not to down Russia jets.

Empire's Frontiers

‘Hello, American, I have the support of the people, though among them I don’t have but a few armed men willing to die for my cause, and they cost quite a bit.’

Hmmmm, for a popular movement, where are all the men behind it?

occupybacon

There was no revolution made by the majority. Democracy works only during peace. For example in the American revolution against the Brits, less than 3% of the colonists took part. All the ‘popular’ movements are made by a small but determined groups of citizens.

Empire's Frontiers

That three percent happened to be armed men, or people feeding armed men.

So what’s your point?

occupybacon

Speaking of the american revolution, they already had guns and not only those who actively participated in the rebellion. Al nations should have guns to be able to overthrow the corrupt governments.

Empire's Frontiers

Small arms are how a population kills its ruling class, that’s right.

Raptar Driver

Yup, I have been warning about this, here comes the Yankee Nazis, they have their in. What will Russia and China do? I would guess little to nothing, Venezuela is toast and this is very sad, sad only.

R PLobo

Gweedo might as well call aliens for help.

Sinbad2

When Hitler opened the eastern front, he destroyed his chance of creating the EU that today exists. Russia had oil and and Hitler should have paid Stalin for the oil, but he was arrogant.

Today the US is making exactly the same mistake. The US is fighting on too many fronts, the military wars, are also economic wars. Why is the US interested in Venezuela, easy it wants to steal Venezuela’s resources, but also make the people economic slaves of America.

Normally the US would have won long ago, but because the US is also fighting Russia China Iran Syria Yemen Iraq Ukraine North Korea Europe, they are thin on the ground. It takes a special kind of evil to be an Elliot Abrams, thankfully they are fairly rare. The fact that they had to get him back out of his retirement indicates all the regular dr death type employees are busy.

Bottom line is the US will lose everything because in its arrogance it is trying to enslave to many people in too many places at the same time.

BMWA1

As Freddy the Great of Prussia once said, he who defends everything defends nothing.

Selbstdenker

Well, as my grandfather always told: all minefields in front of the Russian positions were cleared when they attacked. Almost no resistance from the Russians and almost no casualties on German side. What was found with the Russians were maps of western Europe. Looks like the Russians were planning to go west, but the Germans rendered this plan obsolete. was Hitler forced to break the non aggression treaty based on received intelligence?

Xoli Xoli

Serious sell out to white supremacist. Real kitchen boy.If ISIS get him their will rape Guiado and wife and chop off heads.

Lena Jones

Guaido still wanting to illegally rule over people who hate him? LOL good luck with that.

AM Hants

Would Trump seriously agree to go to war with Venezuela (Russia and China), together with Iran, a year before the Presidential Elections?
