On January 28, the Syrian Army and its allies took control of the key militant stronghold of Maarat al-Numan. The town was liberated alongside with a large number of other settlements in the framework of the Syrian Army advance in southeastern Idlib launched in December 2019.

Good observation, the SAA is also using good convoy discipline as the tanks and APC are properly spaced as not to make a easy target for the ATGM the CIA dumbasses and Turkeys have provided to the dead ender headchoppers. I thought that as well, and the Russian tactics are very different to the ‘hand holding’ formations of the NATO trained Wahabi’s. FIBUA ( Fighting in Built Up Areas) is an art that NATO trainers have long forgotten and seemingly replaced with the US Police Swat Team home entry tactics.
Of course it’s different, Russia teaches some close combat tactics to some special SAA units, here they use one of the urban battle tactics called “cobra cleansing maneuvers”, each individual is not bound by direct orders but has his own tactical decisions but remains in one coordination, this will give a quick reaction to each soldier involved without separating from the group.
