beautyful!!!!!

Pampi Ta

Great move.

Jesus

That is such a beautiful sight. Let Shia Crescent led and strategize by Russia be in full force, and defeat neocon/Zionist attempts to meddle in the area. Kick US out of Middle East.

FlorianGeyer

The US Generals will be throwing their toys out of the cot now. I also learn that the SDF has contacted Saudi Arabia for co-operation in Syria. Perhaps it is time for the SAA to contact Erdogan and offer to lease the Kurdish zone for say 20 years. That would be fun to watch:)

Michael Qiao

The Turks are already attacking the Kurds, and we shouldn’t trust Erdogan now, he’s a backstabbing little snake

FlorianGeyer

He is indeed but the Kurds are so duplicitous that is only fair for them to be cast out into the tender embrace of Turkey.

Michael Qiao

well, the Turks are already attacking the Kurds

Ronald

First of all , the Kurds in Syria are citizens . Secondly it is with the Iraqi Kurds that Saudi Arabia is trying to negotiate a base with , not the Syrian Kurds . It will be hard enough to get Turkey out as it is , do not invite him in .

Gue Bjuen

do you really think there is a difference between iraqi kurds and syrian kurds? don’t you think it is a very strange thing that a federal state is openly doing their own diplomacy? does hawai or texas practise or even have the right to conduct their own diplomacy with other nations?

adam77

California is staying in the Paris climate accords, so yes. Also, the Syrian kurds defend abortion rights, but the Iraqi kurds don’t; so there is a huge difference.

MeMadMax

No they are not, and it is illegal for them to do so. And if you were paying attention, they said they were signing a deal with CHINA. A deal that essentially says they were gonna concentrate trade between china and california in the green tech department, which essentially means, nothing. It’s all for show…

hhabana

Fuck California. Our Orange Overload was wise to walk from that nonsense.

MeMadMax

First of all, you are wrong. Secondly, it IS the SDF: Syrian Democratic Forces that are working with saudi arabia. That IS the syrian kurds: https://southfront.org/sdf-boosts-relations-saudi-arabia-praises-role-stabilization-syria/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Democratic_Forces

Turkey really doesn’t care about being in syria or iraq and will jump at putins orders…

So, you are WRONG, WRONG, WRONG…

No matter how badly you want to support the communist kurds they are gonna get FUCKED, FUCKED, FUCKED as soon as ISIS is defeated….

Ronald

Syria has three areas to deal with ; #1 the Al Qaeda group in the west , which has at least temporarily been effectively put on simmer with the “no conflict zones” . .#2 ISIS , in the center , south and east , who are being dealt with at present . #3 the Kurds or SDF(Kurds and US) Syria can win , but only by dealing with one problem at a time , after ISIS (FSA) is dealt with in the east , SAA can return their focus on the Al Qaeda gangs in the west and north . The Kurds are going to have to make a decision on whether to remain Syrian , or buy the American story of creating a “New Kurdistan” . I agree , they will get the shaft form the Americans and Saudi’s , caught between Turkey in the north and Iraq and Syria in the south , their “glory” would be short lived . My hope is that the SAA will have time to deal with #s 1 and 2 , before dealing with the Kurds .

Thegr8rambino

Seems like they are dealing with all three pretty well right now :))

FlorianGeyer

The only chance for the US,Saudi Arabia to salvage anything from the debacle they have been responsible for in Syria & Iraq, is to use the greed and ambition of the Kurds to de facto annex Kurdish areas in Syria & Iraq. The Kurds in Iran also will likely be armed by the US etc to inflame those territories as well.

GroundlessAir

Would be nice if some more substantial border outpost would be captured, however this is a decent temporary solution. Both closest border outposts are unlikely to be captured in near future since they are well-fortified and heavily protected (Al-Tanf to west of currently held area or Al-Bukamal to east of currently held area)

MeMadMax

Taking al-tanf is pointless. This temp border point and al tanf both link to the same road so theres no point going down there to kick over a political hornets nest at this time.

Kell

Yeah avoiding pretexts for US intervention is critical now – having being cut-off the FSA/US/UK forces to the south will die on the vine and withdraw (hopefully) their reason for being there annulled, the other alternative is a full on assault on the Syrian supply line in an attempt to breach it – this would more than likely draw a robust Russian response.

hhabana

No reason to disturb a hornets nest and waste assets. Keep going!

GroundlessAir

Al-Tanf is right on Damascus-Baghdad highway, formerly a major artery for Syrian trade. It must be liberated, deal also must be made with Jaysh al-Islam fighters in Al-Dumayr, which sits right no the highway too and negotiation is already ongoing with Ahrar al-Sham in Harasta, near the highway. After these 3 are liberated, Syria’s future will be secured.

PZIVJ

Having this minor road link means that SAA has all ready expanded their salient to the NE along the border. Good to have some resupply from Iraq at last, the desert troops may be hungry and thirsty. Maybe also more PMU support. Good news for sure !

Kell
