the video is excellent propaganda. tanks are only transported by trucks, so what we see is only a move of 10-20meters to reach their staging area. Turkey is said to be preparing for weeks now. i think i see a bit of a problem there for such an army to deploy 2-3 tanks each time. then another 2 then a couple of mobile artillery…come on they are not going to war….just media coverage of a diplomatic effort in dark rooms to convince their buddies the HTS to leave the area and give them a huge media victory.
They are clashing in Hadad and Russian aircraft are carrying out the strikes , HTS is US baddies not Turkish Baddies AAS the war of factions since the FSA is being tasked with the attack I think with some follow with forces of Turkish army, SDF is going to lose territory over this for their nonsense at DE and the oilfields.
i have not read about ongoing clashes yet. only something about knocking down a border wall. anyway HTS used to be ‘moderate opposition’ thus equipped trained and supported by everyone….now they discovered that its isis related whereas fsa is ‘moderate opposition’…..love the ‘war of factions’ as you mentioned…..let them kill each other
Keep checking the usual twitter accounts and Al MASDR reported it also.
just read that an official statement was made by the Sultan….Turkey is not yet in Syria but its FSA fighters have started the battle supported by Russian airforce
They sent their special forces to Mt. Simeon and were shelled by the Kurds at Afrin ,they were looking at the defensive positioning at Hadad is was a minor incident and HTS held and are in defense mode.
i think once again the Kurds are the main plate of this dinner
Yes, AASham will be battling HTS! Turkey’s visit with HTS was to warn them to back off from the border with the Kurds or they would take it by force!
the first thing i see in al masdr is the execution of iranian troops and the beheading of the lone survivor……i think i’ll stick to s.f.!!!
Try farsnews, muraselon,Katehon is more of a think tank but similar to Voltaire.net with analysis.
HTS was called FSA in western countries up until some months ago.
The renaming was an attempt to be seen as that! Failed miserably!
Like the freedom fries… arghh.
HTS was Jabat Fateh Al Sham and before that it was Al-Nusra! All of these renamed groups have been labelled as Terrorists by both Russia and the USA! Never and I mean never ever has HTS been considered “Moderate”! They tried to be that but failed!
I did wonder about that. You don’t drive a Leopard on the highway unless you’re desperate. Something will break expensively.
I think u are incorrect! These tanks are right on the border! They were unloaded some 10km before the border! They are literally ready to enter!
I am not impressed. Takes play low key success in this war. Turkey talks and talks and beats their little fist on there chest, and with all the huffing and puffing, barely any air actually comes out. Turkey has been getting attacked by Communist-Terrorist for decades on end within their own country, and Turkey cannot defeat them. If the Turks cannot defeat the Communist, then Turkey should just roll over and die already and save the rest of us the pain of watching it all get dragged out for so long. http://ihr.org/
PKK runs to hide in Syria and Iraq they just hit and run hard to make war against guerilla tactics and they always pick on the poorly armed and unarmed or recruits and are afraid of a frontal confrontation.
There are no PKK in Idlib , east of Aleppo maybe . the only logic Assad and Putin maybe following , is to let the two enemies , HTS and the FSA kill each other while cleaning the final remains of ISIS from the country .
There are in Northern Syria , but they have some PKK/YPG in Afrin , Russia is trying to get some of the FSA involved as they will end up forcing Turkey to live by his words as he is trying to pull another Hatay. Turkey shoots down Syrians returning to Syria , but are not trying to stop them from entering Turkey. Turkey has forced them to take citizenship if they want to continue to work in Turkey, how nice.
The success of tanks is proportional to the correctness of their employment, as in every other weapon system.
How can Turkey defeat PKK? They are not in Turkey, they are in Iraq/Iran/Syria, where Turkey can’t launch operations. As simple as that.
Will give all those US-supplied ATGMs something to shoot at
How ironic. Many Saudi TOW’s traveled across these same Turkish roads in years past to the Jihadist in Idlib province! :D
Now they can return to sender by air.
