The situation in Syria’s southern region remains far from being stable. As of February 24, several military and security developments were reported in the region.

The most serious development was on February 23, when the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) fired ground-to-ground missiles at two observation posts of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) located near the al-Baath city and the town of Rwihinah in al-Quneitra. The missile attack resulted in material losses only.

Following the attack, the IDF dropped leaflets over al-Quneitra claiming that Hezbollah was active in the two targeted posts and warning SAA troops from any further cooperation with the Lebanese group.

Meanwhile in Daraa, the security situation continues to deteriorate. At least two assassinations were reported in the governorate’s countryside.

On February 21, Ismail Shukri al-Daraan, a notorious rebel commander, was gunned down by unidentified gunmen in the town of Mlaiha el Sharqiah in the eastern Daraa countryside. Al-Daraan was reportedly behind several attacks that targeted Syrian government troops in Daraa in the last few years. He was wanted by Syrian authorities.

On February 23, Kamal Hamid al-Jaouni, a former commander of ISIS’s Khalid ibn al-Walid Army, was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen while he was traveling on Aabdyn-Baiyt Irah road in the western countryside of Daraa.

These attacks were a part of an assassination campaign targeting former rebels and radicals in Daraa. Some Syrian opposition activists believe that Syrian intelligence is behind this campaign.

In Syria’s northern region, Turkish forces continue to attack areas held by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

On February 22, a Turkish combat drone struck two posts of the SDF’s Manbij Military Council (MMC) located near the villages of Mahsanli and Arab to the north of the town of Manbij in the northern Aleppo countryside. No casualties were reported as a result of the strikes.

The next day, a Turkish drone strike hit a joint post of the SAA and the MMC located in the outskirts of the village of al-Jat to the northeast of Manbij. Two SAA service members were wounded as a result of the strike. Four MMC fighters were also reportedly killed.

The SDF and the SAA will likely respond to the Turkish drone attack very soon. The northern Aleppo countryside may experience a new escalation.

Meanwhile in Syria’s central region, operations against ISIS cells continue despite reports of losses in the ranks of pro-government forces.

On February 21, five fighters of the pro-government Baqir Brigade were killed in Homs desert when they stumbled on a landmine that was planted by ISIS terrorists.

A day after the incident, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out more than 100 airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the Homs desert.

Furthermore, the SAA and other pro-government formations deployed additional forces around the Homs desert to comb the area and clear any landmines or improvised explosive devices.

The situation in central Syria appears to be slowly improving. However, more time and efforts are still needed to put an end to ISIS insurgency in the region.

In Syria’s northwestern region, also known as greater Idlib, the situation remains calm despite a few ceasefire violations by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.

On February 22, the SAA shelled militants’ positions in al-Akrad mountain in the northern Lattakia countryside in response to recent attacks that wounded a few soldiers. At least one militant was killed as a result of the amy’s artillery strikes.

The situation in Greater Idlib may heat up soon if HTS and its allies decide to further escalate their attacks.

The situation in Syria in general will not likely improve anytime soon. The southern region will likely remain instable. Meanwhile in the northern region, the chances of a large-scale military confrontation between Turkish forces and the SDF are growing by the day.

I think the Americans will try and hurt the Russians in Syria because they have been given their cards in Ukraine, could be a good time now to hit the Empire in Syria including the Turks.

I think the pro strat is to pull a white flag on US forces. Give them 7 days to withdraw then remove them by force, by hand, if they refuse. It’s cynical and will cost Syrian lives, but it’s a constant insult that after all this time they are still there leeching off of Syria. The key is once you force them they will respond with deadly force. At that time they lose any sympathy and everyone, even fellow Americans will be glad they got kicked out.

Jew maggots are being forced to hate on Russia, Bennett the jew pig surprisingly is the same as jew pig Zelensky (fascists now love jews, Le Pen started tis trend) anyhow Bennett won’t criticize Russia in Ukrain but probably will have to change, jew maggot Lapid foreign minister did slightly criticize Russia.

Ask which side is israel on ? that really creates attention.

Turkey could be forced to oppose Russia in the Dardanelles, that would be a blow for me, I support Brother Erdogan and hope he can resist the pressure with the help of Allah (swt).
