On Sunday, violent clashes erupted between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-backed Manbij military council on the one hand and Turkish-backed militant groups on the other hand east of Al-Bab city in the eastern Aleppo countryside.
The both sides accused each other of trying to advance in the area. The clashes were reported in the villages of Aoun al-Dadat, Al-Boughaz, Al-Sheikh Nasser, Al-Lialni, Al-Kawkali, Al-Halwangi, Kart al-Kabir and Kart al-Saghir in the buffer zone west of Manbij.
According to opposition sources, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) withdrew its troops from the buffer zone in the eastern Aleppo countryside. However, pro-government sources denied this. The Syrian military has not commented on the issue.
However, according to reports, the Syrian border guards deployed in the area do not participate any clashes between the Euphrates shield and the SDF.
According to pro-government sources, the SAA Tiger Forces began preparing for a new operation in the province of Raqqah. The SAA may advance towards the town of Rasafa south of Raqqa city in order to prevent ISIS members from withdrawing from the SDF-besieged city. As for now, the Tiger Forces are working to reach the Khanasir road from the Maskana direction.
Thank you for this!
I guess that the CIA have told their ISIS proxies to stand in the Khanaser area so as to enable the free flow of ISIS from Raqqa.
