On Saturday, ISIS launched a large-scale offensive on the sites of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Saraya Ahl al-Sham in the Juroud Arsal area in Lebanon. So far HTS and Saraya Ahl al-Sham have repelled the attack which expanded to the Fleeta area inside Syria.
However, the violent clashes are still ongoing in the areas of Shaimas al-Ajram, Khirbat Dawoud, Shahut, Surj al-Namura, Wadi Hameed, Al-Malahee, Khirbat Yunin in Juroud Arsal.
According to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria, 33 militants from both sides have been killed so far, including commanders.
HTS claimed that 30 ISIS militants had been killed, and also demanded the Lebanese government to evacuate eight of its fighters who were seriously wounded during the clashes.
On the other side, a terrorist, Bilal Ibrahim al-Baridi, blew himself up when Lebanese military intelligence tried to arrest him. Bilal al-Baridi is considered one of the planners of the terrorist attack that was foiled in Ras Ba’albak on May 24, 2017.
The Lebanese government is moving towards expeling terrorists from the Juroud Arsal area, especially after Hezbollah withdrew from its positions on the Lebanese-Syrian border. Some terrorists may be evacuated to their group’s positions in Syrian territory such as Idlib.

The fact that non-state proxy forces such as ISIS and HTS are even in Lebanon is really bad. Recall US General Wesley Clark’s statement, about how he was informed in 2002, that Neo-Con planners in Pentagon were aiming to take out 7 countries in 5 years: Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Libya, Sudan (he wasn’t clear whether North or South), Iran and Yemen. Sure it didn’t go to their exact plan and schedule – but of the list, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen have all had extremely violent foreign driven wars, either direct or proxy. Now add to that list the current US Neo-Con driven agenda to control and install compliant leaderships in Ukraine, Montenegro and Macedonia, and their ever threatening stance against Serbia, through support of Albanian expansionism in Balkans, and the Neo-Con agenda is remains an ever present global megalomania. Lebanon needs to be really vigilant against the coalition of GCC and US/Israeli interests that seek to dominate and weaken it by whatever means they can manufacture.

No didn’t forget – simply not applicable. Hezbollah are made up of the actual indigenous Shia population of southern Lebanon. That is, they live there. It is their territory to politically represent within Lebanon and to militarily defend from Israeli occupation and incursions.
