On the afternoon of May 25, 2023, the Russian air force successfully hit a bridge and a dam of the local reservoir in the immediate rear of the Ukrainian army.
Several settlements were under the threat of waterlogging. The crossing of the water barrier for the AFU military equipment was also complicated in the area from 20 to 30 kilometers from the point of bridge destruction.
“This is Karlovka. We were guarding this bridge, which was mined by the AFU (and this was done on the eve of the AFU offensive!). A rocket hit the bridge. Everyone was alive, but everything was destroyed. There used to be about 15 centimeters of water here…, the floodgates, all the other river structures. It seems to me that the Karlovskoye reservoir will cease to exist in about an hour. Everyone is alive, Thank God. Four tons of explosives (set by AFU themselves) exploded!”

Thus, it turns out that the bridge and the dam were blown up not so much as a result of a Russian missile strike, but because the Ukrainians themselves mined the bridge in their immediate rear areas.
Why did the Ukrainians mine the bridge ahead of their offensive? Why didn’t the Russians blow it up earlier? This war is becoming both the bloodiest in recent human history and the stupidest.

usa satellite surveillance and targetting does not allow for big concentration of forces, they get destroyed. so it is war of multiple small attacks that overwhelms nato surveillance; hardware and human.

trouble with looking at a tiny bit of the picture, you miss so much of the art. next week, how many nations are arriving in st petersburg, aimed at ditching the $us and joining commodity driven economies? how will that work out with the nato member nations, especially the usa? remember, the us has $31 trillion worth of debt to service, as it goes into default on the 1st june.
it’s a difference in leadership but it also shows that even well led frontal assault troops suffer heavy losses. this may explain the reason the russians plod along behind artillery barrages while the afu troops are forced to attack through the barrages and are ground to stuffed cabbage rolls.
russia bombing a bridge means: they’re still afraid of ukrainian offensives. they’re not planning one themselves. at least they would have to bridge the rivers themselves then, so it’s still about defending and hoping for ukraine to crumble or negotiate.

who said that was what russia was meant to do? that is what nato do, when invading. didn’t president putin state that the aims of the special military operation was to de-nazify and de-militarise ukraine? which they are doing quite well, according to the results of the meat grinder.

when using a strategy of attrition, one would interdicts the major supply routes to either interrupt of disrupt resupply of units. this weakens the unites on the front lines, when supplies and reinforcements, i.e. fresh (cannon fodder) meat is sent to the front.
the nazi mined the bridge so that when the units cross the bridge and the shooting begins they can blow up the bridge and trap the units on the other side and keep them from retreating.

about stupid strategies in this bloody war, i agree. the “red carpet knights” in moscow are not making sense at all. every head of military units are doing what he feels like and can’t really care about what happens on the frontlines. i am sure, if all these red carpet knights generals put together in a frontline unit, they would not cope.
