North Korea is struggling with food, according to South Korean media which are widely known as spreading all sorts of unbased rumors regarding Pyongyang.
According to the South’s outlet Chosun Ilbo, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has even gone so far that he’s ordered citizens to their pet dogs so they can be killed and eaten as, reportedly, a new famine threatens the country.
“Authorities have identified households with pet dogs and are forcing them to give them up or forcefully confiscating them and putting them down,” a source told the newspaper.
The pets are rounded up, with some of them being sent to zoos and others being sold directly to the restaurant trade.
This is in line with claims by a North Korean defector Gim Gyu Min claimed that the famine became so chronic in the late 90’s that he witnessed people being forced to eat each other, including a mother who was arrested for cooking her own son in a cauldron.
“It was a common thing at the time. It was not surprising,” said Min.
According to the outlet, Kim claimed that it was Western “decadence” to even have a pet dog and “a ‘tainted’ trend by bourgeois ideology,” Kim in July ordered that dogs be confiscated.
“Ordinary people raise pigs and livestock on their porches, but high-ranking officials and the wealthy own pet dogs, which stoked some resentment,” the source said.
Just days earlier, it was reported that Kim Jong-Un had his own food reserves, that he was forced to tap into to feed North Korea.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim ordered grain from his special food reserves to be dispensed to victims of the recent flooding. The report also claimed that no one from the county Kim visited died in the flooding, though similar flooding has killed dozens in South Korea and China.
“It is of primary importance to immediately supply the victims with bedding, daily necessaries, medicines and other necessities to stabilize their living as early as possible,” KNCA quoted Kim as noting.
“Upon receiving the grain, the residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the benevolent father of people who regards their misfortune as his greatest pain and spares nothing for alleviating it,” KCNA claimed in another dispatch.
This was a worrisome trend.
“I think everyone’s aware that Kim Jong Un’s grain reserve reserves a special stockpile of grain that can only be used in the event of war,” Thae said during a panel hosted by the Heritage Foundation think-tank.
“I think … this means that North Korea’s current food situation is really, really difficult; and the second, because of [these] coronavirus cases, North Korea is really in a difficult condition,” Thae added. “I think Kim Jong Un wants to send a kind of SOS signal to China, who is the only one who can send emergency aid to North Korea.”
Regardless, despite the potentially grave situation, the South is losing no time in spreading propaganda that is being spread without any semblance of evidence. It is similar to reports of various North Korean figures being killed for very insignificant transgressions, just to appear alive and well just days, weeks or months later.
Seoul and Pyongyang are in de facto war, and propaganda spreading is commonplace in such a situation. Mainstream media, however, is only providing one side of the narrative as fact, while almost entirely disregarding the other, and not subjecting it to any scrutiny whatsoever.

That newspaper is owned by descendants of Japan collaborators during world war 2 and much discredited by any Koreans with semblance of intellectual capacity. It is favored by the same sort of people given that there are still many collaborator families. One of them is the infamous deceased military dictator Park Chung Hee who was a Japanese military officer during world war 2 and one of the hard core collaborators. The south korean tragedy began with US occupation. US installed one president after another and brought back collaborators to all important positions of power. Imagine Nazis and collaborators brought back to power again in France after world war 2. Eighth Army chemical officer Donald Bode is quoted as saying, on an “average good day” … pilots in the Korean War “dropped 70,000 gallons of napalm: 45,000 from the U.S. Air Force, 10,000-20,000 by its navy, and 4,000-5,000 by marines” — marines who nicknamed the burning jellied gasoline “cooking oil.”
Neer found that a total of 32,357 tons of napalm were used on Korea,“about double that dropped on Japan in 1945.” More bombs were dropped on Korea than in the whole of the Pacific theater during World War II — 635,000 tons, versus 503,000 tons. “Pyongyang, a city of half a million people before 1950, was said to have had only two buildings left intact,” Neer wrote.
This is still living memory in North Korea.

“The war in Korea has already almost destroyed that nation of 20 million people. I have never seen such devastation. I have seen, I guess, as much blood and disaster as any living man, and it just curdled my stomach, the last time I was there. After I looked at that wreckage and those thousands of women and children … I vomited.”
The Massacre of No Gun Ri
Korea “On summer nights when the breeze is blowing, I can still hear their cries, the little kids screaming,” said Edward Daily. This U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War was talking about the killing of hundreds of refugees, mostly women, children and old men at No Gun Ri in Korea on July 26-29, 1950.
“According to Korean survivors’ and victims’ relatives,” says Norm Dixon in Green Left Weekly, “following a surprise U.S. air raid that killed about 100 villagers who had been evacuated from their village by U.S. troops, 300 other villagers, overwhelmingly women, children and old men, had taken refuge in a narrow culvert beneath the bridge.”
Survivors of the massacre told of the experience. Park Hee-sook, a girl of 16 in 1950, said,
“I can still hear the moans of women dying in a pool of blood. Children cried and clung to their dead mothers.”
Chun Choon Ja, 12 years old at the time, said the U.S. troops, “dug into positions over hundreds of yards of hilly terrain” where they could fire on the civilians. “The American soldiers played with our lives like boys playing with flies,” said Chun.
“On August 3, 1950,” Galen reports, “a U.S. general and other army officers ordered the destruction of two bridges, as South Korean refugees streamed across, killing hundreds of civilians. One bridge ran across the Naktong River at Waegwan.” That same day, 7,000 pounds of explosives were used to destroy a steel-girder bridge crowded with “women and children, old men, and ox carts with their belongings.”
