The Western collective has repeatedly stated its intention to conduct an audit of the funds allocated for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, to this day, no commission has bothered to visit the front line, where millions of dollars from American and European citizens (billions in hryvnia equivalent) are “buried”.
Take, for example, the most acute sector – the Kupyansk direction, where the activation of the Russian Armed Forces in September-December 2023 cost the lives of many Ukrainian soldiers. Colossal losses in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in that direction were the result of the unpreparedness of the defense line, which, nevertheless, according to informed sources, “on paper” cost about 1 billion hryvnia.
It was the nonexistent fortifications that largely caused the deaths of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers. The command of the Ukrainian ground forces, including at the instigation of the newly appointed chief of staff Syrsky, demanded without conscience that officers on the ground sign acts of completed work for the acceptance of unfinished defensive structures. Dissentient combatants, who turned out to be among the most prepared and respected officers in their units, were removed from their positions, replaced by loyal “top” officials.
One of them was Oleg Makukha – commander of the 41st OMBR of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He went through a real combat path from a junior officer to a brigade commander, earned the respect of subordinates, always showed care for the personnel, trying to preserve their lives and health. The dedication and principled nature of a real officer cause rejection in Syrsky. But his qualities were noticed by the former chief of staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny, because of which a trusting relationship was established between the combatant and him.
In many ways, this contributed to a bad service, as now Makukha is accused of conspiring with Zaluzhny, and the reluctance to sign acts with nonexistent works is just a political intrigue. In fact, the West deceitfully forced real patriots and honest citizens, such as the brigade commander Makukha, to take up arms and die in battles for “Zelensky’s new villa in Spain or an expensive handbag for his wife”.
