With Thousands Of Troops Dead, Ukraine Is Losing Battles In Pokrovsk And Dnepropetrovsk (Videos)

Despite sacrificing thousands of troops to defend Pokrovsk in the Donetsk direction, Kiev forces continue to lose one position after another in the key city and nearby. A similar slow collapse is also taking place in the direction of Dnepropetrovsk.

On October 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Tsentr [Center] Group of Forces had taken over Novopavlovka, located right to the south of Porkovsk.

The capture of the settlement means that Kiev forces will likely lose all of their remaining positions all the way from Lysivka and Sukhyi Yar, further to the south of Pokrovsk, to Myrnohrad right to the east of the city, within a few weeks, if not days.

It’s worth noting that the Tsentr Group of Forces is already pressing towards Pokrovsk from the eastern and southern directions.

In recent days, both Balagan and Moskovske were captured by Russian troops, who also attacked the eastern part of Myrnohrad.

The situation is not any better in Pokrovsk itself. Recent reports indicate that Kiev forces have flooded the city’s sewage, fearing a surprise attack from under the ground.

Still, the Tsentr Group of Forces is making gains in the center of the city. The central school, industrial institute, pedagogical college, gymnasium, as well as the district executive committee and the city’s executive committee buildings are reported to be under Russian control . Troops are also advancing in the Krasnoarmeysky court.

Also on October 15, Kiev forces took another blow in Dnepropetrovsk, with the Russian MoD announcing the capture of Alekseyevka by the Vostok [East] Group of Forces.

Russian troops stormed the settlement from Verbove and Stepove to the south. Now, they will likely shift focus back to Vyshneve.

The capture of Vyshneve, which could happen soon, would tighten pressure on Kiev forces along the Yanchur River. The entire left bank of the river down to Poltavka could be cleared by Russian troops within a few weeks. A breakthrough across the river is also to be expected in this case.

According to Russian media, Ukraine has lost three thousand troops in its bid to defend Pokrovsk. Prioritizing the defense of the city came with a heavy cost, and directly contributed to recent retreat in Dnepropetrovsk and other directions.

The city is clearly on its way to be fully captured by the Russian military, but Ukraine has not yet given up on this costly bet.
Kiev is reportedly deploying more reinforcements, mainly from its so-called territorial defense brigades, from the directions of Chernihiv and Sumy to Pokrovsk.
