On March 23, photos showing the wreckage of a T-64BM Bulat battle tank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surfaced online.
The tank, a deeply modernized Soviet-made T-64, was completely destroyed in the outskirts of the northern city of Chernihiv, most likely as a result of a Russian strike. The Russian military besieged the city from several directions in the very first days of its special military operation in Ukraine.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine was left with hundreds of T-64 battle tanks. The Bulat upgrade was developed by the Malyshev Factory to give these ageing battle tanks a second life.
Under the upgrade program, dozens of Ukrainian T-64 battle tanks were equipped with the Nizh reactive armor, the 125 mm KBA3 gun and the TO1-KO1ER night sight which has the capability to fire the Kombat anti-tank guided missile.
The T-64BM Bulat weighs 45 tons with its 850 hp 5TDFM multi-fuel diesel engine. The tank can travel at 70 kilometers per hour, with a range of 385 kilometers.
The modernized battle tanks of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, like the T-64BM Bulat, didn’t see much combat since the beginning of the Russian special military operation which raises some serious questions about their combat readiness and capabilities.
According to the most recent briefing by the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Russian military has destroyed 1,564 battle tanks and other armed vehicles since the start of its special operation in Ukraine.
The T-64 was the most advanced tank till the M1 Abrams entered service. It was the basis for the T-80 with heavy mods a gas turbine power plant included, the first on a main battle tank.
Russia has destroyed almost 95% of Ukraine’s 2250 tanks, mostly T-84/80, some T-72 and T55/62/64. Every Ukrainian tank maintenance facility has been razed to the ground. Ukraine has no armor left and as the videos from Yemen show, the Iranians have cloned the NLAW and Javelins. This NATO war on Russia has been a absolute disaster for the Ukrainian Nazis as they can never have a military again. According to media reports, Chechen special operations have entered the Azovstal factory in Mariupol. This is too important a claim to be accepted yet, but there are many indirect reports which seem to confirm the veracity of this claim. If so, then that means that most of the residential areas of Mariupol have now been liberated from the Nazi terrorists of the Azov battalion. Very heavy combats near Avdeevka and Mariupol. Combat pretty much everywhere the line of contact, which result in slow positional warfare with artillery exchanges and very careful mopping up building by building and even room by room. On average Russian forces advance between 5 and 20 kilometers per day, which is rather fast against a defense in depth prepared for years. The key cities of Kiev and Odessa are almost completely blocked, but not fully surrounded yet. The Black Sea fleet basically controls the entire Ukie coast and all of the Black Sea itself. The Black Sea fleet also prevents any resupply of Odessa from Romania. Russia has full air superiority over the entire Ukie airspace
