On December 15, the Houthis stormed several positions of the Saudi military in the al-Dud mount in the Kingdom’s southern province of Jizan during a “speicial operation,” according to the al-Masirah TV.
The Houthis media wing released a 9-minute video of the attack showing Houthi fighters launching several improvised rocket-assisted munitions (IRAMs) at the Saudi military’s positions before storming them. In the end of the video, a group of 8 Saudi soldiers can be seen running away from the battlefield. They left behind two of their injured comrades, who were begging for help.
“Enemy warplanes carried out several airstrikes in a desperate attempt to hinder the Mujahedeen [Houthi fighters] advance, however they hit Saudi soldiers and their mercenaries who were running away,” al-Masirah said in its report.
The attack in Jizan was a clear message from the Houthis to the Saudi-led coalition, that they are stilling willing to fight if the peace talks fail. During the last round in Sweden, the two sides reached a ceasefire agreement. However, the agreement is still limited to the provinces of al-Hudaydah and Taiz.

Yes indeed. Soldiers with poor discipline usually live in squalid conditions. Such conditions are a magnet for vermin and a risk to the soldiers health plus being a giveaway of their location.
In numerous examples of these Houthi released vid’s the Saudi’s and their proxies use the cheapest blue nylon tarpaulins as elements over-cover for their dug-in positions – not only is it highly visible against largely brown landscape – but a couple months of desert UV light will quickly break material down into ragged fibrous trash.
