Yemen: Houthi Alliance to Join Delayed Peace Talks in Kuwait

The Houthi alliance has agreed to join the delayed peace talks on the Yemen conflict in Kuwait. The decision was made after the United Nations assured them that the Saudi-led coalition would abide by a ceasefire.

Representatives of the Houthis and the party of Ali Abdullah Saleh are to arrive in Kuwait Wednesday or Thursday.

The negotiations were scheduled on Monday, but only the Saudi-backed delegation showed up.

Representatives of the Houthi alliance stayed home to protest alleged cease-fire violations by the coalition-backed forces.

We remember, the Saudi-led coalition intervened in Yemen in 2015 in order to support Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi who claims to be a legitimate president of the country.
