In July, pro-Saudi forces launched a military campaign aimed at capturing the strategic Khaled military camp. Following a series of intense clashes with the Houthi-Saleh alliance, pro-Saudi led forces delcared that they allegedly entered the camp from the western direction and captured some positions inside it. However, no videos or photos confirming these claims were provided.
The Khaled military camp became a constant part of the Saudi military propaganda. Pro-Saudi sources had repeatedly claimed that the forces loyal to Saudi-backed President Mansur Hadi took control over the area.
Indeed, the camp remained constested despite an intense bombing campaign conducted by the Saudi-led coalition. The Houthi-Saleh alliance conducted a series of flanking attacks against Saudi-backed forces and kept the presence in the area.
Yemeni forces also repeatedly shelled the Yahatal al-Nar Mountain, the Saudi-led forces-held sites inside the camp and thearby area causing large casualties among their opponents.
