Yemeni Artillery Attack Kills 3 Saudi High-Ranking Commanders

A series of artillery attacks was launched on Saudi positions in Yemen by the Houthi-Saleh alliance. As result, three Saudi top commanders were killed.

The attack against Saudi troops, deployed in the district of Sirwah of the western province of Marib, was launched by Yemeni soldiers, backed up by fighters from the allied Popular Committees, on Friday. As a result of the attack, three Saudi high-ranking commanders, identified as General Ali Hamisi, Abdulrab al-Shadadi and Shayef Ameri, as well as dozens of Saudi officers and soldiers were killed, the al-Masirah TV-channel reported.

At the same time, a surface-to-surface ballistic missile was launched on the al-Faisal military base, located near Khamis Mushait city in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern Asir province, by the Yemeni side. According to al-Masirah, the Qaher 1 home-produced missile successfully hit the base and inflicted heavy damage to its structure. However, there were no reports about any human casualties.

On Monday, the al-Montazah military base in Zahran district of the province of Asir was targeted by the Houthi-Saleh alliance with another missile.

The Yemeni attacks became a response to Saudi airstrikes across all the country, mostly inflicted on civilian targets, such as schools, hospitals and residential houses.

According to the Friday’s report of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Saudi onslaught has caused a cholera outbreak in the country, which has been added to “the misery of millions of children in Yemen.”

Meanwhile, also on Friday, UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, said that a “72-hour renewable truce deal” would be announced in the coming days. Cheikh Ahmed expressed a hope that “a new peace plan for Yemen would be drafted in the next two weeks, following his talks with Ansarullah representatives in Oman.”

Earlier this year, three months of peace negotiations in Kuwait ended unsuccessfully, without any breakthrough.

houthis alliance start your operation alongside the westcoast of saudi. you really need to start that if you want saudis stop bombing your country.

Peter Jennings

saudi arabia is toast. Even their men don’t want to fight and as soon as things get in little hot they run. You can’t blame them, who would want to forfeit their life for pampered old has-beens who’s mindset is backward by some centuries. Slaves don’t make good soldiers.

It’s about time saudis had a democracy.

Whilst the Yemeni patriots counterattack against Saudi invaders, targeting only legitimate military objectives, the house of Saud mercenaries cowardly bomb funerals like they did yesterday killing hundreds of civilians. Meanwhile, Western “democracies” profit from selling a huge amount of weapons to Saudi, Qatari and Emirates theocracies and at the same time moan in the UN about the losses suffered by Al Nusra and its allies in Aleppo. I hope both Syria and Yemen prevail and free their lands from the despicable salafist terrorism.
