An Israeli man was killed an several others were wounded early on July 19 when a suicide drone hit the city of Tel Aviv in an attack that was claimed by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen.
According to an initial investigation by the Israeli Air Force (IAF), the drone was identified, but due to a human error, it was not engaged by air defenses. As no action was taken against the identified target, no warning sirens were sounded.
The drone hit an apartment building in Tel Aviv, after entering the city from the direction of the sea. The origin of the drone, which according to the probe flew toward Israel from a distant country at a low altitude for several hours, was still being probed by the IAF.
As of now, the IAF believes that the drone came from the southern direction, possibly Yemen, although it was not ruling out other launch sites, such as Iraq or Syria.
A man in his 50s was killed as a result of the drone strike, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service, which noted that eight others were also wounded.
The Houthis later claimed responsibility for the attack. In a statement, Houthi military spokesperson, Brigade General Yahya Sarea, said that the group had carried out a “qualitative military operation” targeting Tel Aviv, using what it said was a new drone dubbed “Jaffa” capable of evading countermeasures.
The attack, the spokesman said, was carried out in response to Israeli “massacres” in the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip. He added that Tel Aviv will continue to be a primary target for the Houthis.
It’s worth noting that the United States Central Command said in a statement released after the attack that its forces had destroyed two surface-to-air missiles and four drones on the ground in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
However, the IAF noted that the command was referring to incidents on July 18 morning and was not directly related to the overnight attack.
The IAF said the attack on Tel Aviv “shouldn’t have happened” and it took full responsibility for the failure that led to the deadly drone strike.
In a statement, the Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement that the attack was under “thorough investigation.” The military also said the IAF would increase patrols by fighter jets “to defend Israeli skies”
“There is no change in the Home Front Command’s orders,” the IDF added.
The Houthis have attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the U.S. and the United Kingdom in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea since November in response to the Israeli war and siege on Gaza.
During the same period, the group launched dozens of drones and missiles at the southernmost Israeli city of Eilat and shot down six American-made combat drones over Yemen and nearby waters.
The attack on Tel Aviv was the group’s most successful operation against Israeli territory, so far. It was also a major blow to the U.S. and other Western allies of Israel who amassed a large naval force in the Red Sea to defend the country and launched hundreds of strikes against Yemen since January in a futile attempt to deter the group.

deadly drone attack and one died. praise allah. even allah is tired of these jewish terrorists.
houthis is bitch-slapping israel again…heheheh
in contrast to ukraine, the israelis have toilets in their apartment but still they both shit in the grass now … heheheh
the ukroz have stolen so many toilets in the czech republic besides refrigerators and washing machines, where have they gone?
they sold them in kiev, ukrainians shit out of habit on the street
and i have been wondering for a long time why there is no more toilet paper in the whole of warsaw and the market, 5km behind lviv is full of toilet rolls
white street shitters????
this is no different in germany, here the ukrozzz not only steal the toilets, but also the associated toilet brushes
for drones may be. they told kitchen appliances could be used for strike systems. vondersula approved it when repeated this statement. she can’t be such stupid, isn’t it?
only jewish brag about killing civilians.
in amerika we obsessed w toilet cuz we expert shithole nation
burn, shlomo, burn. make tel aviv look like gaza. pity it didn’t take out the amerikunt building as well.
only terrorists brag about killing civilians.
very good work by ansar allah
well israel state is dying ;)
more deadly drones and bigger drones are needed to make a difference and make the jews flee palestine for their useless criminal lives!
don’t waste uavs for civilians, target mister yahoo and other military criminals. knesset voted against giving independence to the palestinian autonomy, it’s better bomb knesset instead common apartments.
both are legitimate targets. and as israel bombs gaza civilians it is good to give back to them a taste of their own medicine.
human error means wtf happened. if this drone can evade countermeasures, israel has a real problem. idf assumed it came from the south, from the sea…meaning they have no data, no tracking. no sirens=no detection. human error excuse=lies for the home front. next they will be asking the ‘coalition’ the same thing, wtf? that was quite the bang, too bad it wasn’t the knesset.
yemen invencível! yemen tempestade de fogo! yemen, você é um furacão!
congratulations to brigade general yahya sarea for the successful strike in tel-aviv. it is time to make a plan for the base of the killing bases akrotiri and dekelia in cyprus. god be with you.
the a.d. can not intercept at low altitude. now do this every night. if the zionist parasite has to send it planes up, they will be overheated because every x hours the revision has to be done. so in time there will be more planes in maintenance than in the air !! but chase the yankee and nato planes back home or use drones to hit them in the sky.
the plastic dome failed once again….mawahahahah keep them coming!
give ansar allah more weapons. they are awesome!!!
the juice are being squeezed!!!!
treba tým židom ukázať, že nebudú beztrestne bombardovať sýriu a hlavne nie mesto damask!!! treba im začať platiť tou istou mincou!!! nech si užijú to čo zažívajú obyvatelia damasku!!! konečne ich boh potrestal. teraz keď si to vyskúšali môžu to začať robiť častejšie. nech vznikne tlak na žida aby ukončil okupáciu pásma gazy a tak isto golanských výšin!!! teraz treba na žida poriadne pritlačiť!!! svetu mier!!!
swarms of drones at low altitudes would make the iron dome totally pointless. drones are cheap and so are their parts. a talented 5 year old can put them together.
