The Houthis (Ansar Allah) will begin to target major United States oil companies, including Exxon Mobil and Chevron, ending a ceasefire with President Donald Trump’s administration that was brokered by Oman last May.
On September 30, the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC), which liaises between Houthi forces and commercial shipping operators and is associated with the Houthi military, sanctioned 13 US companies, nine executives and two vessels.
Entities designated by the Houthis “shall be dealt with in accordance with the principle of confrontation,” HOCC said in a statement published on its website.
The announcement is a clear notice that the listed companies are deemed hostile entities that are open to attack by the Houthis.
The Houthis targeted over 190 ships with links to Israel, the U.S. and the United Kingdom in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean since their campaign began nearly two years ago in response to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. Two ships were sunk and another was seized in the first phase of the campaign.
The U.S. responded by forming a coalition to guard shipping in the Red Sea and launched strikes against Yemen. However, Trump announced in May that the U.S. would stop bombing the Houthi, saying that the group had agreed to stop attacks on shipping lanes in the Middle East.
Under the agreement, neither the U.S. nor the Houthis would target the other, including U.S. ships in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait, Oman said in a statement at the time.
Amid the ceasefire, specifically in July, the Houthis sank two ships in the Red Sea. The ships had no links to the U.S., it didn’t respond.
The HOCC’s latest announcement came after the Houthis attacked a Dutch cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden on September 29, injuring two crew and leaving the ship ablaze and adrift.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that their military operations are ongoing and will not cease until the aggression stops and the blockade on the Gaza Strip is lifted,” Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said in a statement claiming responsibility for the attack.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces also affirm the continued imposition of a maritime navigation ban on the Israeli enemy in the Red and Arabian Seas, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, and reiterate their warning to all companies and vessels against violating the previously announced ban,” he added.
The announcement clearly marks the end of the ceasefire with the U.S. Trump will not likely respond until the Houthis actually attack a U.S. ship. However, considering the cost and ineffectiveness of the U.S. past campaigns in Yemen, it is highly unlikely that more strikes will yield any meaningful results.

the yemenis are the only worthy arabs, unlike the rest of the bend over for israel, psionist enslaved, closeted sissis in the rest of the arab world and turkey. not only do they do nothing meaningful to stop innocent women, children and babies being killed and starved gaza, but those arab scumbags actually use their military to protect israel from incoming drones and missiles from yemen.
