YPG Reaches Deal With ISIS To Free 7 Captured U.S. Soldiers: Turkish State Media

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) struck a deal with ISIS in order to free 7 US soliders, who had been captured by the terrorist group earlier, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency reported on November 5 citing “local sources”.

“In Syria’s oil-rich eastern Deir ez-Zor province, the U.S. soldiers were detained in September during a clash between Daesh [ISIS] and the U.S.-backed YPG/PKK, the Syrian branch of the terrorist PKK, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to security concerns.

With the help of local elements, Daesh [ISIS] and the YPG/PKK began negotiating on Sept. 28 over getting the soldiers back, the sources claimed.

Daesh [ISIS] pressed the YPG/PKK to withdraw from some oil wells including Azraq and allow the entry of some medical supplies as well as food items in some areas in return for releasing the U.S. troops.

Under the deal between the two terrorist groups, the YPG/PKK withdrew from the wells and the U.S. got its soldiers. The medical supplies and food items have not been sent yet, according to the sources,” Anadolu Agency claimed in its article.

According to the report, U.S. Col. Sean Ryan, a spokesman for the U.S.-led international coalition, denied the claims that ISIS had captured seven US troops. Furthermore, he claimed that the US-led coalition “is not involved in any deal with ISIS.” The claims that the US-led coalition makes no deals with ISIS, while it had oepnly admitted making such deals in Manbij and Raqqah as well as made a deal with ISIS in al-Tabqah.

This fact was also adressed by Anadolu Agency, which quoted Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon, who confirmed the ISIS evacuation from Raqqah on October 12, 2017.

“The central priority here was the protection of civilian lives and the arrangement was reached by our partners and their local affiliates,” he told Anadolu Agency at the time.

In general, the Turkish state media has avoided to adress the doublefaced policy of the US-led coalition towards ISIS in Syria. However, the recent remarks by Anadolu Agency show that the tensions between Washginton and Ankara are groiwng in both diplomatic and media spheres.

So let me get this one straight… US run proxy YPG forces reach a “deal” with US run proxy ISIS forces to “release” 7 supposedly “captured” US soldiers?

Does anyone else have a problem with this? IMHO we are again watching a propaganda stunt here!

Jens Holm

No, we have a problem with You.

MADE MAKER

ISIS GOT 7 US SOLDIERS & MAKING DEAL WITH YPG …is this REAL or FAKE

That Guy

What if it was real, and ISIS wasn’t backed by the US, what would you say about them. (Assuming that ISIS is not backed by the US, not claiming that they are not)

Nick Sobkowiak

We don’t make deals with terrorists. We just magically got our soldiers back somehow lol

Mustafa Mehmet

You don’t? yeah right lol

That Guy

Suuuuuure….

never in the history of war, neither side broke the agreement on free passage in exchange for a position, except in the war in Bosnia when the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina cowardly attacked the JNA convoys that were on the run and left from Sarajevo and Tuzla by prior agreement. It was a massacre of innocent an army that just wanted to get out of there.

More fake news. Just yesterday Fake News claimed a Russian HQ was bombed and Russians killed. Today’s Fake News claims 7 US soldiers were captured by ISIS months ago. Had ISIS captured even 1 US soldier there would have been pictures and videos all over the Internet.

The Interrogator

Symantec blog is reporting that Ransomware SamSam attacked 4 sites in Portugal so far, do any point to Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey as suspect?

d'Artagnan

ISIS and US are the same. YPG is also a US proxy so this just a spat between two criminal kidnappers for the highest price. US soldiers are excellent at surrendering.

iosongasingsing

How strange, the two Russians and the fallen pilots killed them without any agreement while the Americans released them immediately. What a heart these ISIS cutthroats have, they recognize the master as dogs.

Jens Holm

As I read it, I might think its a false Turkish media stunt. It might be true but I dont think so.

And we do have seen many SDFs killed by ISIS.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

News from Turkey that’s believable, I don’t think so. 7 US soldiers swapped for a couple of oil fields, it nearly sounds believable, but let’s have a really good think about it. What would really be worth more to Isis, a few boxes of medical supplies and a couple of oil fields that the US could take back at any minute, or the golden reels of propaganda they could produce with 7 US servicemen, for an even greater effect, I know which I’d prefer if I was the leader of Isis. One unlucky US soldier would have already been burned alive and dismembered, with all the well edited videos sent off to the relevant parties. The morale boost the Jihadists would get from these videos would reinvigorate and spur them on like nothing else, others would also be eager to join them after watching those videos on the net. The rich financial supporters would also be much more inclined to pump in the cash too, which would probably be worth just as much as those 2 oilfields, and without the associated security and logistic problems that would have come with them. Even without the SDF on the ground the US would just bomb those oil fields every single time Isis got them up and running, and even if they didn’t the Russians would, I think they’re the last thing Isis would want instead of 7 US servicemen. I don’t think there was any sort of swap even if Isis did capture the US soldiers, but I have my doubts about that too. Propaganda gold, who gives that away in return for peanuts, not Isis, never. 1 dead US soldier and 6 to bargain with, that’s what would really happened, and we’d all be watching it unfold on the daily news. But in saying all that I also have to add this, if the US suddenly starts doing weird stuff that doesn’t seem to make any sense, the Turks might be right about the US servicemen being captured. Also, what do the Turks really get for revealing this sensitive information, sensitive information that their US coalition partners supposedly chose not to reveal, there must be something in it for them, whether the story’s truth or fiction the Turks are still getting something for going to the trouble of telling it. It’s definitely a good way for Erdogan to get on Trumps bad side, hang on, he already is.

Rodger

Capturing 7 US soldiers would be the biggest thing for ISIS in years. There is no way they would have given them up for anything. They would have beheaded them on video for PR. I call BS.

Jens Holm

Here they are given at least something.
