The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant officially became the property of Russia after the territories of the Zaporozhie region that are under control of the Russian military entered into the Russian Federation. It was already reported that Rosatom will manage the largest NPP in Europe.

The operator of Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom Concern, announced that the former chief engineer of the Balakovo NPP Oleg Romanenko will head the NPP. The concern noted that it will support the work to ensure the safe operation of the station and the professional activities of the station staff. Earlier, the former head of the NPP was expelled to Ukraine for cooperation with the Ukrainian Security Service.
The presidential decree also states that the licenses and work permits issued to both the plant and its employees will continue to be valid until January 1, 2028, during which time the government of the country should develop and approve the procedure for operating the plant, using the means to ensure the safety of nuclear installations, as well as the procedure for monitoring safety measures and other necessary conditions.
