Impressive. A light vehicle of only 18 tons armed with a powerful 125 mm. auto-loaded gun and is also amphibious. It has a striking resemblance to the much earlier Swedish Ikv-91 tank destroyer with a 90 mm. gun.
Yes, but now ATGM have lessened the need for conventional tank destroyers. A well trained 2 man Kornet team can take out a whole squadron of MBT in less than 5 minutes and then disappear.
Maybe this vehicle can be included in Russian Marine landing units. It could provide the much needed fire support once ashore.
You are right, even in the 21st century, heavy artillery will always be needed for both as a force multiplier and for psychological effect. The Russians/Soviets improvised a lot of their weaponry based on Wehrmacht tactics. The Germans under Guderian were very innovative in using tank destroyers and 88 AAA flak as artillery pieces and dual use, just like we see the Russian 23mm twin and quad Shiklas dominate every battlefield due to their versatility and easy to use. These light air portable tank destroyers are always useful as SP guns in hull down positions.
It all depends if the transmission is garbage or not. I was looking at the sweedish medium tank, and felt it was quite underpowered, then i remembered, its a volvo transmission, it will be ok!
I like it. CIA trolls and hasbarats will cry and rage. Petrovski too…;)
