A senior Taliban commander killed in Parwan province of Afghanistan

On Sunday, security forces in Afghanistan’s Eastern province of Parwan said in a statement that a senior commander of the Taliban militant group has been killed during an operation in the province.

 “During a special operation of Afghan National Police, deputy Taliban so-called district governor for Shinwari district of Parwan Province, named Alamuddin, was killed,” the Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement published by El-Akbar News on Sunday.

The military operation had been carried out in Daraz Gard village of Shinwari on Saturday evening, as said by the statement.

“Alamuddin was involved in many terrorist and destructive activities in this district and other areas of Parwan,” the statement said.

El-Akbar news also reported that Taliban had not made any comment on the incident so far.

However, the Taliban militants have intensified their attacks across the country since Tuesday when they started their so-called annual spring offensive code name “Operation Omari.”
