Such a large attack drone with a low speed really could do with a higher flight ceiling, 3500m is well within the scopre and range of faster Manpad missiles which are vastly cheaper to make.
That thing has barely any thermal signature, just look at ukrainian manpads missing Geranium-2 drones from very short ranges.
And manpads are not vastly cheaper, “Shaheed-136” — ~$30-40 thousand, manpad — 200-300 at least, because it has jet engine and seeker — quite expensive details. “Arash-2” has same weight category as S-136, so it should cost close to S-136. Both loitering munitions have no seekers, optics and active targeting systems, their engines are variations of civil models, no sophisticated electronics (no need), so they are as cheap as 152/55 mm guided artillery shell or light anti-tank missile like “Kornet”.

Geran has a low heat signature due to special paint coating. Arash most likely has similar coating. ukrop stinger and igla MANPAD have failed on video against geran and most likely will fail against arash. Paint coating is anti-radar and anti-infrared. retains heat does not reflect infrared.

barely 3000 rockets depleted all of Israel’s iron dome and patriot batteries surrounding Gaza/central Israel. They’d be overwhelmed by wave attacks from Hezbollah/IRGC/Iranian Army consisting of first MLRS, then cruise missiles, then drones, then tactical ballistic missiles, then the big ballistic missiles like shahab and raab. Run the simulations, all arrow batteries would run out of interceptors against a salvo of just 100 MRBM. All IDF patriots would run out of interceptors against 100 fateh missiles. Same with David’s schlong battery. Meaning an initial strike of 100-200 crappy scud would deplete all major IDF missile defenses, leaving gap open for the hard hitting shahab and other MRBM/long range ballistic missiles. Subsequent cruise missile and drone waves would go unopposed by patriot, davids sling. But before this, iron dome would be depleted by thousands of shit short range rockets from palestine. And so far, Iron Beam is only capable against shells and drones, not large ballistic missiles. IDF would need dozens of Iron Beam batteries everywhere to fill in gaps for Iron Dome. And after Arrow II and Arrow 3 batteries are depleted, IDF have no way to intercept medium/long range and even short range ballistic missiles.
Only realistic way for IDF to secure completely is for massive laser weapons to counter ballistic missiles, rockets and drones. Iron beam only good for drones/mortar/shells. LASERS ARE THE FUTURE OF WARFARE. LASERS AND DRONES.
