An agreement on the complete cessation of hostilities was reached in Nagorno-Karabakh and will enter into force from 1 p.m. local time on September 20, 2023. The agreement was reached through the mediation of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Administration of the President of Azerbaijan announced a meeting with representatives of the Armenian population of Karabakh scheduled for September 21 in Yevlakh. It will be aimed to discuss reintegration issues.
The Artsakh authorities and Baku agreed on:
- withdrawal of the remaining units and servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia from the deployment zone of the Russian peacekeeping contingent;
- disbandment and complete disarmament of the military of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army;
- withdrawal of heavy equipment and weapons from the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh “in order to dispose them as soon as possible”.
