The British-made Stormer HVM short-range air-defense (SHORAD) system has made its first appearance in the Ukrainian battlefield.
On July 23, photos showing a single Stormer HVM system with service members from Kiev forces on an unspecified front in Ukraine surfaced online.
The Stormer HVM, which is built around the chassis of the Alvis Stormer armored personnel carrier, was developed primarily to counter the threat of attack helicopters and low-flying aircraft. The SHORAD system is equipped with an electro-optical targeting system and can be armed with up to eight Martlet or Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles.

The Martlet is guided by laser beam-riding with infrared terminal homing and a laser proximity sensor. The missile has a maximum range of eight kilometers. The older Starstreak is guided by SACLOS [Semi-automatic command to line of sighs] and armed with three submunitions, darts, which are guided by laser beam-riding. The missile has a maximum range of around seven kilometers.
While Martlet missiles has been spotted with Kiev forces before, the Stormer HVM supplied to Ukraine appear to be armed with Starstreak missiles.
According to unofficial sources, the UK has supplied Ukraine with six Stormer HVM systems, so far. It remains unknown if Kiev forces will receive more systems of this type in the future.
Kiev’s Western allies have been working for a while now to strengthen Ukrainian air defenses, but to no avail. While systems like the Stormer HVM are effective against slow, low-flying targets like helicopters and drones, they will not likely be of any use against Russian fighter jets and missiles.

It is funny that they hide the face of the brits that came with that weapon. After all the Brits did say the Ukrainians cannot operate the weapon without help. FUNNY AS HELL.
Line of sight needed for a laser -its not completely British designed -the parent company is French.Although it says “up to date ” -2021 production started in 2011 and its been replaced with the “Fury ” ( USA partnership) which superseded the “beam riding ” ability – translated means -old design which is no longer the cutting edge.
I find it pretty funny that westerners think that they will get away with this, we will fuck the western countries that have helped to prolong this war so hard that they will forget their heritage. Next stop in UK, it needs to be fucked hard so the next time they think of something to hurt Russia they will remember like Germany and France do. Along they way Netherlands needs to be slapped pretty hard, Brussels needs to be made a scapegoat simply for their stupidity.

Not making them allowed the USA to now have troops on Russia border -its a “weakness ” to give in or either compromise with your enemy as Russia has found out . According to google, the Stormer was about to be shelved (I guess in British they say pensioned off) but good thing along came Ukrainia and voila they are sold off to the lowest bidder. That’s right, sold, you don’t think Ukers are giving ’em away for free do you?
I might’ve been wrong, according to publicly available information, Britain’s been “donating” the old weapons, uh, junk to the Ukrainia. It’s still funny, since the Brits must be thrilled to be rid of it, couldn’t be happier to clear out the old and in with the new. Either way, it’s more, more, more for weapons-makers, warmongers and 10% to all the Big Guys.
I do not understand how they can deliver this to Ukraine, how this can enter Ukraine or they dismantle that in pieces and then piece by piece bringing it front line. For heaven sake this is not Javelin or some RPG
There is no more progress of the Russian forces in Donbass. It seems the special operation has been stalled from about ten days. I hope tomorrow or after Soledar and Sloviansk are freed from Russian Army or I start to worry.

which jets are you talking about? the russian air force is MiA in this war. After 5 months of war, the air force has been unable to gain air suprmacy in Ukraine, not even air superiority. Only local air superiority in some places of the donbas has been gained so far. A very poor performance, we have to say. I hope that som ehigh rank officers have been court martialed so far due to incompetence or negligence managin the air forrces budget for so many years to achieve such a poor result.
